Gus Poyet believes Edinson Cavani will make a huge contribution to Manchester United as he gets more used to the United’s style and will end up getting an important role in Solskjaer’s squad.

On October 5,

Manchester United

Edinson Cavani

, who after leaving

Paris Saint-Germain

in June had been without a club, in on a free transfer.

Cavani has been used sparingly during his first months in Manchester, and now is pushing for his Premier League debut.

The Uruguay international scored his first goal in the game against Everton just before the international break. His second one was during his country’s World Cup qualifying win against

on Friday.

Now he is hoping to maintain his level of performance in the game against

West Brom

next weekend.

The ex-

midfielder Gus Poyet believes Cavani is “is going to be more important for Manchester United than people think,” and even will end up getting an important role in Manchester United.

“Look at the last game at Everton. The result was in the balance, he came off the bench, one chance and bang.” Poyet said.

“English football is perfect for Uruguayans because we are passionate.

"Once we sign a contract, we forget about it because the only thing that matters next is winning. English fans love that.”

Poyet thinks Cavani’s performance will get better as “he understands United’s play” more and gets used to it.

“He makes an incredible amount of runs,” he added. "Maybe he makes an unbelievable run and the ball isn’t played.

"The fitter he gets, the more he understands United’s play, the more he will play.”
