Eduardo Coudet is Celta’s sixth coach in the past three years and is beginning his first coaching job in Europe after a career made in the America.
Upon his arrival, Coudet was welcomed by Atilano Vecino, the former Celta footballer and the club’s sporting director, Felipe Minambres.
“I’m very excited, I’m looking forward to starting work and I hope things go well,” El Chacho told. “I come with a lot of desire. I chose Celta because it is a club that I already know and it’s a great challenge for me.”
A former midfielder, the Argentine had a small start at the Galician club during his playing career back in 2002 but got well-known for his play at Argentine giants San Lorenzo, River Plate and Rosario Central.
The 46-year-old has ran clubs across South America from 2015 and helped Racing Club to the Argentine league title in 2019.
At the end of that year he left and was assigned as Brazilian club Internacional, whom he got 23 victories in 43 matches while at the helm.
17th in LaLiga are currently the Galicians, having won two of their previous five matches. their opposing team after the international break is an Andalusian double-header – They play Sevilla in Seville before hosting high-flying Granada at Balaidos.
