Salah Was Defended by His Hometown Mayor Following Recent Videos

After videos of Liverpool star leaked showing him with no mask or social distancing Maher Shtayyeh rushed into Salah’s defense.

breaching Coronavirus protocols the player’s hometown mayor denied the allegations regarding the Egypt international. On Friday the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that Salah has tested positive for Covid-19 and is said to be missing his country’s international game against Togo. The


player will also miss the Reds game against


post-international break.

Salah videos showed the player celebrating his brother’s wedding in Cairo without taking any precautions.

"All what has been said is false, it does not make sense to hug someone five times in the same wedding,” Shtayyeh told Goal.

“Also Salah was extremely cautious during the one-hour wedding, he never took his mask off except for taking photographs.

“Salah is fine now, he does not show any symptoms, I talked to his father and uncle.

“Trezeguet was the only [other Egypt] player who came to the wedding with Salah, he was also extremely cautious”.
