Didier Deschamps believes that Pogba’s situation at Manchester United has impacted his consistency.

Paul Pogba

has struggled for consistency at

Manchester United

as he has started only four games in the Premier League’s current season. Although the French international has played three Champions League games, he has only once managed to find his place in Solskjaer’s starting XI. The 27-year- old has created two chances in the Premier League with a pass accuracy of 79.9 per cent which is lower than his last season’s statistics. After France’s defeat against Finland in their Wednesday friendly match, Deschamps was asked about Paul Pogba and his current form.

"He is not at his best, I knew that before, this match against Finland was supposed to give him rhythm, so did

Olivier Giroud

"I had talked to them, they knew they would play for an hour at most. When you see the result, it's hard to remember the positive. Paul is not in his best period, I said that before Finland.

"Like all players who have a complicated situation at a club, they are impacted mentally, not just physically."

France will play against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal on Saturday as they are in the second position of the UEFA Nations League Group 3 table.
