Domagoj Vida played a half during Croatia’s 3-3 draw with Turkey while he was possibly infected with coronavirus.

Last night,

Turkey

played a friendly match against

Croatia

. This exciting match ended in a

3-3

draw, but something strange happened.

Croatia defender,

Domagoj Vida

was substitute in the half-time break due to the possibility of being infected with coronavirus.

Vida, along with other members of the team, took a

COVID19

test on Monday and the test showed negative, but subsequent tests in the morning of the match called one case suspected of having corona.

An official statement from the

Croatian Football Federation

stated that they had complied with all

UEFA

protocols:

"After that all the players and staff members had had negative tests on Monday before the game against Turkey, new checks were carried out on Wednesday morning, ahead of the game against Sweden,”

“The Federation received the test results after midnight local time and these showed Domagoj Vida is positive for Covid.

“The medical staff of the Croatian national team received the first information of a potentially positive result during the half time.”

This can have a huge impact on

Serie A

since some of the players who participated in the match like

Milan Badelj

,

Marko Rog

,

Mario Pasalice

,

Ivan Perisic

and

Merih Demiral

play for Italian teams.
