Lyon forward has criticized his team’s mentality as underwhelming results continue.

Lyon

had a successful 2019-20 season as they managed to surprise their fans by reaching the Champions League Semi-Final. Raul Garcia’s team finished Ligue 1 in the seventh place but due to their Champions League performances some of their players was linked to top clubs in Europe. However Lyon has failed to continue their success in the current season and are now seven points behind

PSG

in the ligue 1 table. Ahead of the international break Lyon managed to win 2-1 against

Saint- Etienne

which was a relief for the team as they feel the pressure from the media. In a post-match interview

Memphis Depay

has expressed his frustration over the team’s lack of motivation.

"This should be our goal. Even though I can't say everything that crosses my mind ... about what's going on, what I'm seeing at the club, there are things I can't honestly say.

"But it should be a motivation for all the players who come to Lyon. Because it's a very big club, people have to realise that. And every player who comes to the club must realise this.

"You come here to bring back trophies. There should at least be this mentality."

Lyon will play against Angers on November 22 before starting their tight December schedule with a game against Reims seven days later.
