West Brom's coach looking to build a belief in his squad.

West Brom coach Slaven Bilic is declining to set off the emergency alarm regardless of his side's winless beginning to the Premier League season.

Bilic

acknowledged on Friday the

Baggies

are in a "gunfight" after gaining only three points from their initial seven matches as they endeavor to resist the individuals who tipped them for a quick re-visitation of the Sky Bet Championship.

The Croatian felt they had turned a corner in drawing against Burnley and Brighton as of late however last Monday's loss to Fulham leaves them in the last three in front of the visit of high-flying

Tottenham

on Sunday evening.

Bilic's future in the midlands is vague however he perceives there is still a lot of time left in the season to pivot their fortunes.

“Every game gives us the opportunity but let’s not be obsessed with a win,” Bilic said. “Did Sheffield United or Burnley win (last week)? No. We don’t need to get six points in the next couple of games.

“But what we need is a better performance than against Fulham, we need to build on Burnley and Brighton.

“The better we play, the more chances we’ll have to get to that first win that will make the guys more relaxed in a positive way and give them more belief.”

While West Brom is moping in the lower levels of the table, Tottenham is batting endlessly with the title competitors, having gone unbeaten in the league since the start of the season 2021-22.

The odds are strongly against West Brom, however, Bilic believes they could've beat

Chelsea

in September where they shared points with London Blues with the result of 3-3.

Bilic has no injury problems and his squad is prepared. “We are playing against a top side." he said

“Are they better than us on paper? Of course, they are. But Chelsea was also better than us on paper and we were very close to getting three points in that game.

“We need a response and are we ready for that? Yes.”
