Fri 06 November 2020 | 16:25

It is reported that Milan will request their players to consider a 20% salary decrease due to the financial crisis brought about by COVID 19.

The Rossoneri disclosed a depletion of €195m for the 2019-20 campaign last month.

Also, based on what La Repubblica said they are the first

Serie A

team that tend to negotiate with their players requesting a salary decrease.

Hopefully, back in March,

Juventus

players accepted unanimously to take a collective pay cut, rescuing the club around €90m.

Lega Serie A President Paolo Dal worriedly said that ‘the system is close to collapsing,’ however the Government has officially rejected to assist Serie A clubs with a monetary protocol of €600m.

Italian clubs have to look for another method to decrease their costs. Thereby, Milan will soon negotiate to decrease the players’ wages by

20%

. Similarly, other clubs will take the identical action in the near future.

Also, the Rossoneri intend to extend the contracts of Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu whose contracts will expire to the end of the season.
