Mourinho Expects More from Lo Celso

Despite scoring against Ludogorets the Portuguese admits that he wants to see more of the player's performance.

In

Tottenham

’s recent victory against

Ludogorets

though their Argentinian midfielder

Giovani Lo Celso

was able to score one of their winning goals the team’s manager

Jose Mourinho

admitted that he wishes to see more from the player. According to the Portuguese coach despite his amazing performance the player still failed to keep the ball after losing it several times and to deal with the problem Lo Celso needs to focus both on his fitness and his intensity believes Mourinho.

"He was good with the ball and not very good without the ball," Mourinho told a media conference. "His physical condition is not good. He didn't have a pre-season.

"During the lockdown in the previous season he had problems. He didn't train in that period when other guys were training so he has been up and down in his preparation.

"I feel that when he plays he's not the Gio that we know, not the Gio that we know can be an amazing player. But with the ball, of course, great and he knows what he's doing and understands the way we want to play.

"But we need more intensity to be fitter and to be stronger in the transitions. Of course, he played more than an hour, and for that hour was a football match that we needed to win but it was also a training session to improve his match fitness."

The Spurs coach also commented on their recent defeat to

Antwerp

and how furious he was with the players’ performance. But he is happy with their 3-1 win and he wishes his men to maximize their game in the future.
