Joaquin: “I won’t hire Koeman, not even as kitman!”

The Real Betis star and captain had a very bad period with Ronald Koeman in Valencia.

Ronald Koeman

officially became the new head coach of

Barcelona

this summer and he has a duty to bring this crisis-stricken club back to its good days.

Koeman

has gained a lot of experience during his coaching career.

He has been successful in some teams, such as

Netherlands

national team, and in others, such as

Valencia

, he has not.

He replaced

Oscar Fernandez

at Valencia in November 2007 and coached the club until 21 April 2008, with the worst possible results, with

Valencia

claiming relegation, but with the arrival of

Salvador Voro

, Valencia were able to finish the season in tenth place.

Real Betis

captain

Joaquin Sanchez

was playing for Valencia at the time and has yet to forget that year:

“It was not the most beautiful experience of my sporting career,

he said

“It was not a pleasant experience, but as I always say: one has to live with everything and what happened at that time.

“I do not want to talk about this issue because honestly it hurts me what happened there, I had a bad time.”

Joaquin is surprised how Koeman has managed to achieve such a high rank in Barca and when he was asked would he ever consider him if he was a chairman in Betis, he replied:

“Not even as kitman!"
