Koeman: “I see things differently from Setien”

Tue 03 November 2020 | 14:06

In a pre-match press conference with Dynamo Kiev, Ronald Koeman reacted to Quique Setien’s recent remarks about Lionel Messi.

Former

Barcelona

coach

Quique Setien

made news by talking about Barcelona’s star,

Lionel Messi

. He acknowledged

Messi

as one of the best players in history but also claimed:

“There's another facet beyond just the player and it's more difficult to manage. Much more difficult.

“It's something inherent in many athletes that can be seen in the Michael Jordan documentary. You see things you don't expect.”

Barcelona sacked Setien after 8 – 2 defeat against

Bayern Munich

in the

Champions League

last season.

But current

Barca

boss,

Ronald Koeman

says unlike Setien, he likes working with Messi:

“I respect all opinions. For me Leo is the best player in the world, I am seeing his ambition and winning character,”

Koeman said

“I have no difficulties to lead [him]. He is the captain and I talk to him every week. I see things differently from Setien and I do not agree."
