‘He is a brilliant player’ Mount hails Chelsea teammate Ziyech
Having left Ajax with an initial fee of €40 million, Hakim Zyiech joined Chelsea at the end of the last season. There was a fitness issue with the Moroccan winger which caused his debut to be delayed, but fans have been rewarded for their patience as Ziyech’s past week performance for the English club was nothing short of brilliant. The 27-year-old scored a spectacular individual goal in the team’s 4-0 victory against Krasnodar in the Champions League. Ziyech’s fellow team-mate Mason Mount has spoken about his qualities on the pitch and the way his able to help the whole team with his special abilities.
"We know what he can do on the ball and what he brings to the team," the England international said of the ex-Ajax star after the win at Burnley. "[He's a] World-class player, obviously coming in and scoring the other night [against Krasnodar] and scoring on his Premier League debut. He’s a brilliant player.
"He’s a joy to play with, very clever on the ball, he brings a lot to the team. He’s a very good player.
"He brings a different property to us, with an eye for a pass, his receiving, crossing and assist-making. His work-rate off the ball is very, very good as well. He has brought those qualities and comes with real confidence. He has given us a big boost."
Chelsea will play against Rennes in their third Champions League match of the season before continuing their Premier League campaign with a match against Sheffield United on November 7.
