Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly insists that they should get back on winning track by seeing the bigger picture.

Napoli

defender Kalidou Koulibaly won't accuse the extreme timeline of their fixtures and zeroed in on skipping back quickly with a victory against Rijeka on Thursday.

Manuel Locatelli's penalty and Maxime Lopez's solo run secured a 2-0 win for

Sassuolo

in Campania and the Senegalian defender was 'unhappy for the loss' in

Serie A

“Tonight, we wanted to win but we didn’t,” he said after the match. “

We’re sorry for the defeat

. If we stop at this defeat, we won’t improve.

“We can’t use last Thursday’s game as an alibi. We need to think about winning this Thursday’s game against Rijeka and on Sunday in the League against Bologna, let’s think big.

“We created many opportunities to score, but we didn’t grab them.”

Gattuso's team is in fifth place in the Serie A table with 11 points out of six games and has begun with one victory and one loss in the Europa League.
