D'Ambrosio happy with Inter clean sheet

The Nerazzurri 32-year-old defender was delighted after scoring against Genoa plus a clean-sheet for the team.

Danilo D'Ambrosio

was satisfied with his objective against Genoa, and more than everything else his team's clean sheet. ‘We need to work as a team defending first and attacking later.’

The

Nerazzurri

battled to knock down Genoa at Marassi, up until Romelu Lukaku dilapidated the opponent's defense, with D'Ambrosio secured all three points for

Inter

with the 2-0

outcome.

“It was not an easy game, because no games are easy in

Serie A

, it’s all about how we approach it,” D’Ambrosio told Sky Sport Italia.

“I agree with what the coach said, nobody has dominated us this season, and we deserved more points. This evening, we dominated Genoa from start to finish, got the goals we needed, kept a clean sheet, and brought the victory home.

“We have been saying since the start that in order to aim high, we need to work as a team defending first and attacking later. That doesn’t mean playing defensively, it means controlling the game and not giving the ball away cheaply.”

Inter’s next game will be against

Shakhtar Donetsk

, who are very motivated by their clash with

Real Madrid

and win at Santiago Bernabéu.

“We know it’s a tough match, so if we go to Ukraine and think we might win easily, we’re making a huge mistake. We beat them last season, but cannot expect a similar outcome. They have a lot of quality and physicality up front.”
