In early minutes of Merseyside derby draw;

Van Dijk

suffered an injury in a clash with Everton's goal keeper

Jordan Pickford.

The game took place at Goodison Park on Saturday and ended with an even score, 2-2.  The match had two injuries; Thiago Alcantara also sent to hospital but injury was not serious. Pickford was rescued from a red card or a penalty by VAR reviewing by Michael Oliver, the referee whose finishing whistle made Liverpool players frustrated and plaintiff. Scan showed that Van Dijk’s anterior cruciate ligament is damaged and he should undergo a serious surgery.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also raised objection; "For me it was a clear penalty that I saw. Then obviously we saw the flag went up, so offside. I still thought it was worth a look on the foul but that didn't happen," said Klopp. So, how do Liverpool try to cover the absence of a player who has been so brilliant and pivotal remains question.
