Jadon Sancho is staying at Borussia Dortmund - Favre

Lucien Favre looks forward to the ongoing growth of Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund as he reiterates that he is not for sale anymore.

After another outstanding season, Sancho was linked with the transfer to Manchester United through the transfer window.

Sporting Director Michael Zorc has announced that, after their deadline of August 10, no club will be able to sign the youngster.

United is still trying to negotiate with the player and the club, however, Favre specifically said that Sancho is a crucial figure in his strategies for the next season.

Favre told the Swiss News Agency Keystone-SDA, "We need him, no doubt. Everyone is glad he stayed." "I don't have to worry about the capabilities for long – they're enormous.

"He scores and provides assists and can often make all the difference, but there are some details that Sancho needs to develop. That is very natural for a 20-year-old."

This campaign, after the arrival of Bellingham from Birmingham City in July, Dortmund has another promising young English talent.

Favre has much expectations form the player who costs a total of €25 m ( £ 22.75 M).

"I'm looking forward to working with a player like him, of course," Favre said. "In pre-season, I got to see him more. I like how he manages and can secure the ball.

"Jude has many tactical capabilities and an impressive personality. He can play as 6 or 8, plays well, seeks completion. Various systems are possible with him."

Dortmund will start the 2020-21 season tonight on the first round of a DFB-Pokal against MSV Duisburg.
