Manchester United have left the number seven shirt vacant as they continue to be linked with Jadon Sancho.
Mason Greenwood will wear the number 11 shirt for Manchester United this season, but seven remains vacant.
United announced on Friday new numbers for academy graduates Greenwood and Brandon Williams ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League season.
Greenwood, who could make his England debut against Iceland on Saturday, has left his number 26 shirt for the 11 jersey famously worn by United great Ryan Giggs.
Meanwhile, left-back Williams has traded 53 for 33.
But amid repeated links to Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho in recent months, United still have no number seven, the shirt left vacant since Alexis Sanchez's departure in January.
George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo have all previously turned out in the iconic number for United.
The club had already confirmed Donny van de Beek - their only new signing to date - will wear 34 in a nod to former Ajax team-mate Abdelhak Nouri, who was left with permanent brain damage after suffering a cardiac arrhythmia attack during a pre-season match in 2017.
