FC Barcelona: All summer transfer ins and outs
Barcelona were linked with a move for Neymar pretty much all summer but that deal failed to materialize; the club did spend big on Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong instead.
The Catalan giants also waved goodbye to a fair few players. Denis Suarez, Malcom, and Jasper Cillessen are just a few of the players to seal moves away, while Philippe Coutinho and Rafinha both secured loan moves.
Here are all Barca’s arrivals and departures this summer:
Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid for €120m
Frenkie de Jong from Ajax for €75m plus €11m in variables (deal agreed in January)
Neto from Valencia for €26m plus €9m in add-ons
Junior Firpo from Real Betis for €18m plus €12m in variables
Malcom to Zenit St Petersburg for €40m plus €5m in variables
Jasper Cillessen to Valencia €35m
Denis Suarez to Celta Vigo for €12.9m plus €3.1m in add-ons
Andre Gomes to Everton €25m plus add-ons
Marc Cardona to Osasuna for €2.5m
Sergi Palencia to Saint-Etienne for €2m plus €1m in variables
Adrian Ortola to Tenerife
Philippe Coutinho to Bayern Munich (loan fee of €8.5m, purchase option of €120m)
Marc Cucurella to Getafe (with an option to buy of €6m)
Rafinha to Celta Vigo
Juan Miranda to Schalke for two seasons
Oriol Busquets to FC Twente
As usual, it’s been another busy transfer window with the Catalan giants linked with dozens of stars, while rumors buzzed around that players such as Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele, and Jean-Clair Todibo could depart.
The club will be expecting big things from their big-money signings Griezmann and De Jong, while it will be interesting to see how Coutinho fares at Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, we expect the Neymar rumors to continue!
