Leaked: Juventus’ 2020-21 Season Home, Away, and 3rd Kits
Formed by the students of Massimo D’Azeglio Lyceum school, Juventus was founded in 1897 in Turin, Italy. At first, the club was named the Sport Club Juventus and wore white shirts with black shorts and socks. After renaming it to Football Club Juventus, the players started to wear pink After 4 years; in 1903, however, the club’s players got tired of wearing pink. Furthermore, they wanted to stand out from Palermo—who still wears pink. John Savage, one the team players, contacted one of his friends in Nottingham. Being a Notts County fan, Savage’s friend sent shipped the black and white striped kits of Notts County to Italy. Since then, Juventus has worn the black and white striped shirts in home matches.
“The Black and Whites” are the most successful football club in Italy’s history. Through the past decade, Juventus managed to prove themselves in Italian football once again. Even though the club was unable to win the UEFA Champions League, they managed to win Serie A for 8 consecutive seasons. The path to success started in 2011-12 season under the management of Antonio Conte. Now, after nearly 9 years, Juventus is competing with the same manager. Conte’s Inter Milan is proving to be a tough rival for “The Old Lady” and seems able to put an end to Juventus’ dominance in the Serie A. Although the football world is excited about the close completion in Serie A this season; Juventus’ fans are certainly beginning to feel some frustration about the club’s position in the league. The other thing the majority of fans are worried about is the current design of Juventus’ kits.
Manufactured by Adidas, Juventus’ 2019-20 season home jersey featured a controversial half-and-half design. At the end of 2018, Juventus signed a new 8-year kit deal with Adidas. The deal is worth the high amount of €51 million per year; however, the fans are worried about the fact that Adidas is trying to come up with original ideas. Indeed, many believe Juventus’ 2019-20 home shirts are the worst ones in the club’s history and does not represent the club’s identity.
So what is Adidas going to do about the next season kits?
