Tonight group A competitors, Italy are going to face Armenia as they host their visitors at Palermo in their last qualifying match of UEFA European qualifiers.

Italy have already qualified for the main stage of the tournament. This is while Armenia will have an opportunity to finish third in the table if they manage to collect all three points against Italy tonight.

The Blues are currently leading the group as they are on top with 27 points and nine wins in a row, while Armenia are in fourth place with ten points.

What is up with Italy?

Italy have already secured qualification, but they want more. In fact, the team have already all the matches they have played in the UEFA qualifiers and it seems like they want to be the winner of the last match as well.

With this goal in their mind, we can count on the four-time world champions to do their best against their visitors tonight.

Roberto Mancini’s men have been extraordinary so far as they have netted 28 goals in the qualifiers while have conceded only three so far.

They have started their qualifiers by facing Finland in Matchday one where they defeated their rivals 2-0 and have continued winning all their next eight games up to now.

Armenia in details

Armenia on the other hand, have not been that successful. In fact, they are winless in their last 3 qualifiers and the recent 1-0 defeat to Greece despite having home advantage shows that they simply aren’t there yet in terms of quality.

Overall, the team have lost five of their qualifiers, with three wins and one draw, with the wins coming against Liechtenstein, Greece, & Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It has to be mentioned that their worst loss came against Finland on Matchday 8, where they lost the match 3-0 against their hosts.

In the case of teams’ absentees, it has to be mentioned that Roberto Mancini will start their match against Armenia missing a bunch of players, including Chiellini, Piccini, Sensi, Politano, Spinazzola, Verratti, and Berardi all due to injury.

On the other side of the pitch, Armenia manager Abraham Khashmanyan, will miss just one of his players. In fact, he has to start the match without Hovsepyan who has to be out due to suspension.

Teams’ background

Looking back through history, it has to be mentioned that Italy and Armenia have played three matches so far as Italy won two of them, Armenia one and the other one ended in a draw. Both teams found the back of the net in all the encounters.

Their last rivalry goes back to Matchday 5, which was the reverse fixture of this game and was ended in a 1-3 result as Italy could win the match away from home.

Italy is yet to record a win against Armenia at home. The last time these two met with Armenia playing the guests, the match ended 2-2.

It worth reminding that Italy have managed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last three UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying fixtures.

Ciro Immobile

He is the top scorer in Serie A with 14 goals who would certainly want to improve his scoring tally in the qualifiers, having only netted one goal so far. He also has provided one assist for his national team.

It has to be mentioned that he also is Lazio striker and has scored 14 goals and provided five assists for his club this season so far.

Jorginho

The 27-year-old also plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Chelsea and has scored two goals in the 8 matches he has played in the UEFA European qualifiers this year. It also has to be noted that he has scored two goals for Chelsea this season.

Armenia Key men

Tigran Barseghyan

The 26-year-old who also kicks the ball as a midfielder for Kazakhstan Premier League side FC Kaisar has one of the main roles in the national team. So far he has scored three goals and provided three assists in the European qualifiers in addition to the twelve goals he has netted for Kaisar.
