Best away kits of the 2022-23 season

Clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United lead the list with their incredible away kits for the new campaign. Here is how each team will appear away from home for the rest of the year.

If you're closely following the 2022-23 season and want to dive into some

action, there will be plenty of chance to see all the new kits put to use.

Barcelona

Barcelona

have surprised everyone by signing world-class players such as Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha despite struggling financially. They have been desperately trying to balance the books by selling more merchandize and offering Nou Camp as for wedding ceremonies and other parties. The times in turmoil, however, has not been too cruel on the Blaugrana as they are currently donning one of the

.

Nike’s new design for Barcelona’s away kit is inspired by the 1992 Olympics, which took place in Barcelona. As a nod to the good old days of the Olympics, Nike have designed a shirt with a golden base, while featuring a subtle design on the front, which is believed to be the map of the city of Barcelona. The manufacturer’s Swoosh logo comes in blue, while the club’s crest features golden details.

One of the better details and more obvious references to the Olympics is also one of the features that has allowed Barcelona’s away kit to be amongst the first group on the list of best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season. That detail is none other than the five stripes on the cuffs, which represent the colors of the Olympics. The new design is certainly worthy of appreciation and Barca fans are definitely eager to see their favorite players don the shirt on away games.

Bayern Munich

Even though

Bayern Munich

are going to confuse many by looking like Real Madrid on the pitch, it does not mean that they are not going to look great. The Bavarians have received one of Real Madrid’s previous home kits as their new away kit and the similarities are uncanny. The all-white base of the shirt is complimented with golden details, which is surely reminiscent of the Spanish giants. FC Bayern are one of the fiercest teams in Europe and they are going to challenge for the Champions League trophy in style.

Being amongst the first group on the list of

best and worst away kits of the new season

, the Bundesliga giants’ away kit is an absolute beauty with its golden stripes and other golden details, which also include the club’s own badge. Having signed the likes of Sadio Mane and Matthijs de Ligt after losing Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, we will have to wait and see if Bayern Munich can cope with Lewa’s absence and win everything there is to win once again.

Manchester United

Perhaps the only club that is in worse shape than Barcelona are

Manchester United

, since they are still dealing with the Cristiano Ronaldo drama and are yet to find their feet as a strong top-four contender in the Premier League. Even though the new season has only just begun and it is way too soon to judge how things will pan out in the end, the Red Devils have already received so much criticism for the way they play and the way everything has gone so far.

But at least United fans will be happy to know where their new away kit stands on the list of

. Adidas have designed a rather neat away kit for Manchester United as their new design is certainly a sight for sore eyes, with sore eyes being the result of so many horrible away and third kits in recent years.

Even though Erik ten Hag’s men are not going to play in the Champions League this season, it is hoped by millions of United fans that they can at least push for a place in next season’s Champions League throughout the season.

Arsenal

The Gunners are dubbed the dark horses of the Premier League thanks to all the new signings they have made over the summer transfer window. This fact is reflected in their away kit as well. Amongst the

best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season

, Arsenal’s away kit is certainly one of the best with its black base and gold details.

The London-based club’s away kit features a rather bold and abstract geometric print across the front of the shirt and the sleeves. This print comes in both black and gray, matching the gray shoulder stripes added by Adidas’ trademark. The black base is complemented with gold details such as the Adidas and sponsor logos and the club’s minimal logo, which consists only of their trademark cannon.

Real Madrid

Next on the list of best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season is Adidas’ purple design for

Real Madrid

. The Spanish giants went on to win both La Liga and the Champions League in a season which saw their Catalan rivals struggle to find their form. That is why their kit sponsors have designed a kit suited for the champions of Europe. The base of the shirt comes in light-purple, while also featuring a pattern of diagonal rectangles.

Being on the better side on the list of best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season, the beautiful design also features dark navy colored details, which include the collar, the club’s badge and the sponsor logos. Having signed Antonio Rudiger and Tchouameni during the summer transfer window, Real Madrid are one of the favorites to win the double once again. Will Los Blancos be able to beat the heavily star-studded Barcelona in the race for the league title while wearing their away kit on away games?

Worst away kits of the 2022-23 season

The term “worst” might be an over-exaggeration as some of the items on the list of

worst away kits of the 2022-23 season

are not necessarily ugly. They have simply not managed to attract the attention they deserved and people have not taken a liking into them. Of course there are also those which are certainly considered to be amongst the worst away kits in history. Read on to find out more about the second group on the list of best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season.

AC Milan

It feels like Puma have used the Center Alignment on Office Word to print the details on

AC Milan

’s away kit. Everything on the shirt is right in the center and there are no other details visible anywhere else. There are seven red and seven black horizontal lines on the front of the shirt, with the club’s badge and the Puma logo appearing on top.

The base of the shirt is literally all-white and no other subtle details can be seen. While some football fans might take a liking into this rather minimal design, others have voiced their concern over the fact that Puma are not trying their best to design new and exciting kits for their customers.

Borussia Dortmund

If only Puma could learn from their past mistakes and stay on-topic a bit more than before. The only thing that makes

Borussia Dortmund

’s away kit stand amongst the latter group on the list of best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season is the big gray square right in the middle of the shirt. All other details are simply incredible, with the base of the shirt coming in black, while featuring a lighter irregular rectangular pattern on one side of the shirt.

The Puma logo and the club’s badge both come in yellow, which add more depth to the details visible on the kit. However, all of these nice details are overshadowed by the presence of an ugly grayish square in the middle, which encases the Sponsor logo. Dortmund have lost Erling Braut Haaland to Manchester City and it seems that their away kit is the second punch they will have to suffer all season.

Liverpool

Close your eyes so that you wouldn’t get dizzy watching

Liverpool

play. Of course we do not mean that Jurgen Klopp’s men could make you dizzy by passing the ball around more than prime Barcelona. We simply mean that their away kit for the new season is a horrible sight to look at. It is certainly one of the more bizarre designs amongst the best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season and the club’s supporters are not really fond of the new design.

The base of the shirt is white and features an eye-catching multicolored swirled marble pattern. While the pattern features a colorful design, all other details come in black, including the Nike Swoosh, the club’s badge and the sponsor logo. The Reds missed out on lifting the Champions League trophy once again after failing to beat Real Madrid in the final. We will have to wait and see if the dizzying design could help them confuse their rivals in the new season.

Tottenham

Perhaps the most horrible design on the list of best and worst away kits unveiled for the 2022-23 season is

Tottenham

’s away kit designed by Nike. The sportswear giants have used several colors for the new design, including purple, white, black and volt. They certainly could have used these colors to make an incredible away kit for the London-based club.

However, they used these colors to make one of the worst away kits of all time. All details are stacked on top of each other and are positioned in the middle instead of on the sides. While the shoulders and the sleeves appear in black, the cuffs and the top side of the chest area appear in volt, which has made the whole design a lot more confusing. A number of fans have claimed that the new kit looks more like a scuba diving suit instead, which has added further insult to the arsenal of online trolls.

Manchester City

The idea behind Manchester City’s away kit is perhaps a decent one as they seem to be aiming for a retro design. But the execution of that idea does have its own flaws, which has turned the fans against the new away kit unveiled by Puma. The colors are a nod to City’s roots and traditions. These colors include black, red and gold. The base of the shirt and the sleeves is all-black, while the front of the shirt features diagonal stripes to take the club’s older fans back to the much simpler times.

The details on the shirt, including all logos and the club’s badge come in gold, which could have been a great addition had there not been red stripes underneath these details. Perhaps Puma could take note from their past mistakes this time, so that they can make a better away kit for Man City and their other clients next season.
