Well, the Euro is over, and it's time for the Olympics to be held in Tokyo, Japan. The tournament has been suspended due to the Corona epidemic and will be held with a year delay. Now it’s time to know about Volleyball Olympic Games 2020. Stay with us.

But first, we will tell you the history of volleyball and then we will talk about

Volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

And we hope that after reading this article, you will learn more about Volleyball Olympics 2021 teams and become interested in it like other enthusiasts.

In the winter of 1895, William G. Morgan, a YMCA physical education director in Holyoke, Massachusetts (United States), invented a new game called Mintonette, a word derived from badminton, as leisure to be played (ideally) indoors and by any number of participants.

The earliest rules, drafted by William G. Morgan, stipulated a net height of 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m), a court size of 25 ft × 50 ft (7.6 m × 15.2 m), and any number of players. A match consisted of nine innings, with each team serving three times in each inning and no limit on the number of ball contacts before the ball was sent to the opponents' court.

A second try was granted in the event of a serving error. Volleyball is a sport in which two teams of six players use their hands to bat a ball back and forth over a high net, attempting to get the ball to contact the court within the opponents' playing area before it can be returned.

To avoid this, an opposing team player bats the ball up and toward a teammate before it touches the court surface; that teammate may then volley it back across the net or bat it to a third teammate who volleys it across the net. A team can only touch the ball three times before it must be returned over the net. In the next part of the article, we will discuss the

Everything you need to know about Olympic Volleyball at Tokyo 2020

Well, now is the time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and in this part, after telling you the history of volleyball, we want to explain Volleyball Olympic Games 2020. Join us and enjoy it.

Volleyball tournaments will be held during the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and will take place between July 24 and August 8, 2021. Ariake Arena in Ariake will host the indoor volleyball competition.

There's no denying that the Olympics are a once-in-a-lifetime event that symbolizes the peak of many athletes' careers. It is unheard of in peacetime for such a significant event steeped in history to be postponed. Rather than lamenting a summer that could have been, we might look forward to 2021 as a watershed year, with an extra year of anticipation and the expected outpouring of emotion and goodwill around the world that will accompany the end of the Coronavirus epidemic.

The Volleyball Olympic Games 2020 is one of the sport's most prestigious tournaments. However, the postponing of 2020 will not dampen spirits; an extra year of preparation will only pique the interest of national volleyball teams throughout the world, with defending champions Brazil (men) and China (women) preparing to defend their five-year reigns.

Of course, they will face off against the traditional powerhouses of Russia and the United States, all while being watched by potentially record-breaking crowds.

It was initially slated for 2020, but the IOC and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee stated on March 24, 2020, that the 2020 Summer Olympics would be postponed to 2021 owing to the COVID-19 epidemic.

We're looking at everything you need to know about Volleyball Olympic Games 2020, including the two disciplines, the rules, the teams, and even the balls, as a memorial to the "lost" Tokyo Olympics of 2020 and a build-up to the 2021 celebration.

Olympic Volleyball competition format at Tokyo 2020

In both men's and women's volleyball, the 12 qualifying teams are split into two pools of six teams, with each pool playing a round-robin format. The top four teams from each pool proceed to the quarterfinals, with a knockout format used for the final round.

Matches in volleyball are played in a best-of-five format. Each set is played to a total of 25 points, with the winning side needing a two-point edge to win. When a team wins a point, they take the following turn to serve.

The match is won by the first team to win three sets, but if the match is tied at two sets apiece, the last set is played to 15 points. In the next part, you will get acquainted with the rules of the Volleyball Olympic Games 2020.

Olympic Volleyball Rules

Olympic volleyball follows the same basic regulations as the International Volleyball Federation:

  • A match can last up to 5 sets, with a team winning if they reach the third set

  • Sets 1-4 are played to a total of 25 points; if a fifth and final set is necessary, it is played to a total of 15 points

  • Each set must be won by a margin of two points, with no higher point limit

  • Each team has six players and is allowed three hits (excluding blocks)

  • Rally scoring — every point can be won by either the serving or defending side; the winner of each point receives the next serve

  • At the completion of each set, the teams switch sides
