Eden Hazard

resurfacing on the web and Luke Shaw heaping praise for Bukayo Saka, there is much to cover from everything that happened yesterday.

Euro 2020 – Day 21 Review

Surely we all expected to see

Cristiano Ronaldo

set yet another milestone for himself and take a giant step towards becoming ever more successful. Here is more information about Ronaldo’s new milestone and many more.

The Social Media Goliath

You want your brand to be seen by literally hundreds of millions of people? “Better call Ronaldo!” The

Portugal

international became the most followed person on Instagram and even reached more than 300 million followers on the social media in quite a short time. Being the most followed person on such a gigantic platform only means that you can charge however much you want to endorse a product.

The 36-year-old is believed to have an annual income of $40 million from Instagram, with his charging rates for a sponsored post almost doubling since 2019. Ronaldo can reportedly earn as much as $1.6 million to endorse a product on social media, which puts him on top of the list of expensive influencers, which also includes the likes of Ariana Grande and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s time in the Euros might have ended forever, but surely becoming the most expensive influencer of such a global and widely-used social media platform will soothe some of the pain.

What a Burn!

They always say: “Check yourself before you wreck yourself.” Eden Hazard might have wished to abide by these words as well, as a recent video shows him getting roasted by his international teammate Youri Tielemans. In a relatively old video from last week that has only surfaced on social media and is taking over meme pages everywhere since yesterday, some of the Belgium players take part in a program called “Ask the Red Devils”, which is sponsored by an audit and assurance services company.

In the video, Eden Hazard is asked to do an impression of Youri when he scores and the

Real Madrid

man jokes that he (Youri) “doesn’t score”. In a moment of brilliance, Tielemans points out: “I scored more than you this year”. The 24-year-old midfielder amazingly roasts his Belgium teammate, who has had an awful run since joining Real Madrid. Hazard joined the Spanish giants in 2019, but has since had an utterly horrible couple of years, being sidelined for most part of each season, having only made a total of 43 appearances and scoring 5 goals in the process.

A Simple Thank You

Luka Modric thanks his fans and

Croatia

supporters for their support on Instagram, with a simple yet elegant post about his national team. The Real Madrid midfielder, who helped his nation somehow reach the 2018 World Cup final, was eliminated from Euro 2020 after a 5-3 defeat to Spain in the extra times of the Round of 16. With Croatia bowing out of the tournament, the 35-year-old posted several images on Instagram, with the caption saying: “Proud of this country. Proud of this team. Thanks to our fans for the support.”

It took him a bit longer than expected to hop back onto social media and post a thank you on Instagram, but people were only full of praise for the midfielder as everyone knows how important and vital he has been for Croatia and Real Madrid over the years. He single-handedly earned his country a place in the Round of 16 with a banger of a goal from long range, which was sweetly struck with the outside of his foot.

The New BFFs

Luke Shaw had nothing other than praise and respect for his

England

teammate Bukayo Saka, with whom he has apparently been getting along spectacularly. The left-back talked up Saka on England’s Youtube Channel by saying:

“Honestly, I love him. I’d just love it if he was my child. I love him like that. I feel that you could ask anyone in the squad that and they’d say the same thing, about what a good guy he is. I didn’t know him before I came to the camp and I didn’t know what he would be like, but I’ve got on so well with him.”

The Manchester United defender went on to add: “I would love him to be my brother. He’s so cool, he’s so funny. He makes everyone laugh and he doesn’t mean it. He’s not a loud person but the way he is and the way he speaks is so funny. Someone like that in the camp is good to have and he gets everyone laughing. We all love him and appreciate the way he is.”

Saka has been a pivotal part of Gareth Southgate’s plans so far and has attracted quite a lot of attention for his impressive performance in Euro 2020. It is also worth mentioning that the Arsenal midfielder is only 19 years old and is immensely versatile when it comes to being deployable in any position. The Englishman can virtually play anywhere on the pitch as a left-back, a winger or even a central midfielder, which will surely come in handy if Southgate needs someone special to cover a certain ground.
