UEFA Euro 2000

squad, he scored three goals in the games, including the equalizer against Portugal in the semi-finals, which made him one of the tournament's top scorers. France won the game in extra time when Zinedine Zidane converted a penalty kick. France went on to win the final in extra time, giving Henry his second major international medal in his lifetime. Henry was named man of the match in three games throughout the tournament, including the final against Italy.

Henry did not play in the first game of France's brief UEFA Euro 2008 campaign, in which they were ousted in the group stages after being placed in the same group as Italy, the Netherlands, and Romania. In a 4–1 loss against the Netherlands, he scored France's lone goal in the competition.

Although Henry began his career as a striker, he spent most of his time at Monaco and Juventus as a wing. When Henry joined Arsenal in 1999, Wenger quickly switched him to his childhood position, frequently partnering him with Dutch veteran Dennis Bergkamp. Wenger changed Arsenal's formation to 4–5–1 for the 2004–05 season. This shift required Henry to adapt once more in order to fit into the Arsenal team, and he appeared in numerous games as a lone striker. Nonetheless, Henry remained Arsenal's major offensive threat, scoring amazing goals on several occasions.

Nuno Gomes (4 goals)

Gomes has played for Portugal at every level possible! He gaining 143 caps across all categories and scoring at a high rate overall. He scored four goals in four games to help the under-20s finish third in the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship, including two in the third-place game against Spain. The following year, he participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics, contributing to a fourth-place result.

Gomes made his senior international debut against France when he was 19 years old. He scored his first goal in Portugal's first match at the UEFA Euro 2000, his fourth start, as the team rallied from two goals down to defeat England 3–2. He finished the campaign with four goals as the national side advanced to the last four, but received a seven-month international suspension for shoving referee Günter Benkö after the semi-final defeat by France, in which he had started the scoring; he was named to the UEFA tournament team.

Gomes scored seven goals in six matches to help Portugal qualify for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, including a four-goal effort in a 7–1 away win over Andorra. He struggled to maintain a starting spot in the finals in South Korea and Japan, only appearing twice off the bench; on November 19, 2003, he scored his second hat-trick in only 21 minutes of play against Kuwait.

After more than two years away of international action, Gomes  came in the final minute of a 5–3 home triumph over Iceland in the Euro 2012 qualifiers on October 7, 2011. Four days later, he made his final complete game against Denmark; owing to little playing time for his club in 2011–12, he was left out of Paulo Bento's team for the finals in Poland and Ukraine.

Savo Milošević (5 goals)

Savo Milošević was a member of the team that won the Toulon Tournament in 1992. Milosevic appeared in 102 games for Serbia, making his first international debut in a 2–0 friendly loss in Brazil on December 23, 1994. Milosevic scored 37 goals for his country over his 14-year international career.

Milosevic scored five goals at UEFA Euro 2000 after participating in two games at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, winning him the Golden Boot, which he shared with Dutch attacker Patrick Kluivert.

Milosevic played his 100th international game on June 16, 2006, during the FIFA World Cup in Germany, in a 6–0 group stage loss to Argentina, becoming Serbia's most capped player.  As a final farewell to international football, he was called up for a friendly against Bulgaria on November 19, 2008, when he scored twice and missed two penalties in a 6–1 triumph before being replaced by Dragan Mrda.

Milosevic was a fabulous player when he was at his best. His dribbling abilities were remarkable for a big guy like him. He'd take long, meandering runs across the field on a regular basis. In sharp contrast to Eric Cantona's puffed-up chest and erect demeanor, Miloevi often cut a stooped figure, as if his confidence and talent did not warrant an upright posture. He lacked pace, and his leisurely style of play was reminiscent of Dimitar Berbatov, who also boasted excellent ball control.

Patrick Kluivert (5 goals)

The FC Barcelona footballer represented the Netherlands at the

UEFA Euro 2000

tournament and has been a member of the national team since 1994. Patrick Stephan Kluivert scored five goals in the major tournament's contests. This former AC Milan and Ajax footballer co-led the footballers with the most goals in Euro 2000 with 5 goals. His team, the Netherlands, went to the tournament semifinals, where they lost to Italy.

Despite his height, Kluivert had a fairly outstanding 'first touch' and quick feet for a striker of his size. Due to his pace, outstanding technical skills, close control, and football intelligence, he frequently used many feints, including the Cruijff Turn, to great effect to get past defenders. Kluivert also dominated aerial balls with his height, power, and powerful physique, and was regarded as one of the best headers in the game at the time.

He was a versatile player with a terrific eye for goal, good vision, and the ability to play in a variety of positions throughout the pitch. Despite his talent, he was chastised throughout his career for his demeanor and attitude.
