Laporta sacks Barca legend Amor from Sporting Director position

The former Blaugrana midfielder, who played for Barcelona for more than a decade, has been reportedly sacked from his role as the club’s sporting director as part of Joan Laporta‘s has kick-started the shaking up of the club.

Starting his journey with Barcelona back in

when he was only

Guillermo Amor

has made more than

300 appearances

for

Barca’s

first team in a

14-year

period.

Joining the Blaugrana from Barcelona B in

, the midfielder has registered

47 goals

in his 311 official appearances for the club before leaving for

Fiorentina

.

After retirement from playing football at Livingston in 2002, the Spaniard returned to his boyhood club during Laporta’s first spell in 2003 as a youth coach.

The Spaniard has also led the Australian side,

Adelaide United

, to A-League title in the

season before returning to

Barcelona

as the

technical director

in

2017

.

However, the departure of

Barca

legend is a continuation of

Laporta’s

pattern of remodeling the club in the coming months.

Amor

has won

5 La Liga

titles, the
