Approximately a month later, he scored his first Bundesliga goal with the Wolves, which was the winning goal in Wolfsburg game against Bayer Leverkusen.

Draxler's spell at Wolfsburg had a bitter ending. He asked for the permission to leave the club in the 2016 January transfer window, but his wish was not granted by the club. Barcelona and Arsenal were eager to secure his services but the deal collapsed and he was forced to stay until the end of the season. Upon his return to the field for Wolfsburg, Draxler was booed by some of Wolfsburg fans.

Draxler eventually left Wolfsburg for Paris Saint Germain in December of the following year. Overall, he scored 8 goals and assisted 10 times in 45 games for Wolfsburg.

I knew we were very poor but couldn’t imagine any other scenario. Only players like Neymar and Messi could have scored 3 goals in 8 minutes."

Draxler was amazing for PSG in his second and third season with the club. He played 46 and 47 games respectively and scored 5 goals in each of those two seasons. Everything seemed right for the youngster, but his fate changed starting from the 2019-20 season as he gradually lost his place as a started after a series of unfortunate injuries.

Paris Saint Germain had one of the best campaigns of its history in the 2019-2020 season, after winning a domestic double and reaching the UCL Final, which they lost 1-0 to

. Draxler was sidelined for the majority of the season due to injury. Overall he played only 11 games for PSG in the league and 22 games in all competitions and failed to score any goals.
