Ousmane Dembele profile

Ousmane Dembele is a professional football player from France. He plays for Spanish giants Barcelona at the moment. He previously played for

and the Borussia Dortmund Bundesliga team.

Dembele has recently signed with FC Barcelona for EUR 105 million. He has played in seven matches so far and has scored one goal.

Style of play

Because of his ability to use both feet, and to use his technical ability, speed, and agility to get past opponents or beat defenders in one-on-one scenarios, Dembélé is a winger who can play on either side. In a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 formation, Dembélé can also act as a left or right-sided defensive midfielder.

His clinical completion and eye for goal also enable him to be used as a striker in a more offensive capacity. In terms of his shooting skill from distance, Dembélé still has great consistency.

For his show-boating and trickery on the ball, as well as his abrupt change of tempo and use of feints, he is frequently likened to former Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho by the club's supporters. For his game-changing abilities, Dembélé received high praise from former team captain Andrés Iniesta.

Dembélé is well-known for his ability to use either foot; a highly talented player, his dribbling talents, and ability to execute elaborate maneuvers allow him to cut through from the left or right-wing to score or generate goalscoring chances for his teammates.

The Frenchman is also an outstanding ball crosser; in addition, when in possession, his ingenuity is outstanding. In addition, during counterattacks, his speed and smart runs make him a big offensive threat.

Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barcelona's president, insisted in March 2019 that Dembélé, who previously played for the club, "Is better than

In his press conference, new Dortmund coach Peter Bosz announced that, without the club's knowledge, the 20-year-old French forward was missing.

At a press conference, Bosz told reporters, "He didn't come to practice today. We don't know why. We tried to reach him but we were unable to," "Hopefully nothing bad has happened."

Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said, amid recent claims to the contrary, the 20-year-old lived in Dortmund but was suspended by the club until after the German Cup match against Rielasingen on Saturday.

After transferring from Rennes for around 15 million euros, Dembele celebrated a good debut season for the

giants. His shows captured the attention of Barca on the Neymar substitution market, whose EUR 222 million move to Paris St Germain shattered the world record for the transfer.

But late on Thursday afternoon, Dortmund announced in a statement that they had refused Dembele's bid, which was valued at around EUR 100 million.

A bid was made by the members of FC Barcelona which did not conform to the exceptional footballing skills of the player or to the actual economic business condition of the European transfer market. Accordingly, the BVB refused this request.

"As there is no other offer from FC Barcelona to date, there is currently no transfer of the player to FC Barcelona and this is not currently likely."

Goal celebration

During the match between FC Barcelona and Levante UD, the Ousmane Dembele goal celebration, referring to the 1/8 final of the Spanish cup, was played at Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona, Spain, on 17 January 2019.
