Harry Edward Kane (born 28 July 1993) is an English professional football player who is a forward for Premier League club 

Tottenham Hotspur

 and he is also the captain of the England national team. He is considered one of the best attackers in the world, Kane is known for his prolific goalscoring record.

He was born and raised in the London borough of Waltham Forest and began his career at Tottenham Hotspur, where, after fast progress through the team's youth academy, was promoted to the senior team in 2009, at age 16. He did not primarily feature for the team, and was loaned out several times to clubs across the English football pyramid, including Leyton Orient, Millwall,

In his first full season at the club, Kane scored 31 goals in all competitions, was the Premier League's second-highest goalscorer, and was named PFA Young Player of the Year.

For both the 2015–16 and 2016–17 seasons, Kane finished as the league's top goalscorer. In the latter season, he helped Tottenham finish as the competition's runners-up and won the PFA Fans' Player of the Year award.

Kane registered his best campaign statistically to date in the 2017–18 season, with 41 goals scored in 48 games across all competitions, and in the following season, he finished as a runner-up in the UEFA Champions League. In November 2019, he became Tottenham's third-highest all-time goalscorer in official competitions.

Kane has scored 32 goals in 51 games for England. He appeared and scored at every youth level, and made a goalscoring debut with the senior team in March 2015, aged 21. Kane featured and scored during England's successful UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying, and represented the country at the tournament itself.

He was made the squad's captain from May 2018, prior to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In that tournament Kane led England to fourth place, which was their highest finish since 1990 World Cup. He also finished as the World Cup's top goalscorer, winning the Golden Boot.

 starts with his early life. Kane was born in Walthamstow, London to Kim and Patrick Kane and has one older brother, Charlie. He has Irish ancestry because his father is from Galway. The family relocated to Chingford where Kane attended Larkswood Primary Academy until 2004, followed by Chingford Foundation School (where David Beckham also attended). He played football from a young age and joined a local club, Ridgeway Rovers, when he was only six years old in 1999. Kane talked about his playing football in the family:

"I think the sporting genes come from my Mum's side of the family although the topic is a hot debate in the Kane household. Dad probably won't like me saying that, but I think my granddad Eric on my Mum's side was quite a good football player, and played at an excellent level."
