A look at the chances of the top teams in the Champions League first knock out stage to see who will win the Champions League title in 2021.

Another exciting

Champions League

season has passed the group stage and after today's Draw, the last 16 teams know their opponents in the first knock out stage.

The draw was held earlier today at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland and the eight games of the first knock-out stage will be played as below:

  • Lazio - Bayern Munich

  • Chelsea - Atletico Madrid

  • Leipzig - Liverpool

  • Porto - Juventus

  • Barcelona - Paris saint Germain

  • Borussia Monchengladbach – Manchester City

  • Sevilla - Dortmund

  • Atalanta - Real Madrid

In the most exciting game of this stage,

will lock horns with their enemy from recent years, Paris Saint Germain. The game promises to be a mouth-watering duel between two of the most controversial teams of the last few years.

The two clubs have not been on good terms since Neymar left Barcelona for PSG in 2017. Should the Brazilian recover from his horrible ankle injury, he will face his best friend Lionel Messi, with whom he desperately wants to re-unite next season.

The other exciting game of the last 16 stage will be played between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. Chelsea has immense offensive powers this season and Atletico is one of the toughest teams of Europa, defensively.

Meanwhile, Defending Champions Bayern Munich will face

and Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool will have to overcome the challenge of RB Leipzig.

In terms of team spirit and squad quality, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are still considered to be the best two teams in Europe.

The likes of Juventus, Dortmund and Manchester City have been brilliant in the group stages of recent seasons, but they have lacked the cutting edge needed to progress further than the last 8.

Spanish Giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have not been brilliant enough to be considered among the title challengers, but few would write them off when it comes to predicting who will win the Champions League title in 2021.

Having said all that, it's time to take a look at the top teams of the 20-21 UCL knock-out stage and guess

who is going to win the Champions League title 2020-2021

Trying to answer the big question: who will win the Champions League in 2021?

In the following article we will look into the current form of the top ten teams of the 2020-21 Champions League knock-out stage to see

who will win the Champions League title in 2020-2021

 RB Leipzig

is the first team in our article on who will win the Champions League title in 2021. They will face Liverpool in the first knock-out stage.

Julian Nagelsmann and his players did the impossible last season and reached the competition's semi-final against all odds. This year they will have a much harder task as Liverpool is currently one of Europe's best teams and Leipzig will need a miracle to go through.

Leipzig were drawn in a tough group against PSG, Manchester United and Basaksehir. They continued to do wonders in their second ever participation in the Champions League by eliminating Manchester United in the final game of the group stage.

Jose Angelino

has been Leipzig's best player so far into the season with three goals and three assists in 6 matches. Leipzig has been the most physical side in the competition so far with 111 fouls committed, that’s an average of almost 18 fouls per game.

How far do you think Leipzig will go in this year's edition of Champions League? We think their journey will end soon this year and they will be eliminated against Liverpool.

The second team in our article on

who will win the Champions League title in 2021

is last season's Europa League winners,

. History has shown that Sevilla are a much dangerous side in the Europa League as they won a record six titles. They will face Dortmund in the last 16, a tricky encounter in which anything will be possible.

Sevilla was drawn in an easy group against Chelsea, Rennes and Krasnodar. They finished as the group second team with 13 points, 2 points behind Chelsea. Their best game was their 3-1 away win against Rennes while their worst result was undoubtedly the 4-0 home defeat against Chelsea.

Y<a href="https://sportmob.com/en/player/5c42c7b743b1f8179c004825/youssef-en-nesyri">

oussef En-Nesyri

has been Sevilla's best player with four goals and one assist. Juan Lopetegui's team has been brilliant in making chances in front of the goal.

Sevilla is the third best team in the competition in terms of creating chances. (100 chances created in 6 games- 38 of them on target). However, they have suffered from lacking efficiency as they scored only 9 goals, which is the second worst record among the last 16 teams (behind Atletico Madrid with 7).

We think will eliminate Dortmund in the last 16, but will not be able to go further than the last 8.

Borussia Dortmund

will face Sevilla in the next stage. They were drawn in a tricky group alongside Lazio, Zenit and Club Brugge, which they finished at top with 13 points.  However their poor form in Bundesliga eventually costed Lucien Favre's job as the yellow and blacks are sitting at the fourth place and have just suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat against Stuttgart.

Dortmund's best games of the group stage were the two 3-0 wins against Club Brugge, while their only defeat was away at Lazio. As expected, Erling Haaland has been the team's best player with 6 goals scored.

Ever Since Jurgen Klopp guided them to the UCL final in 2012, Dortmund has not been able to reach the latter stages of the competition. They have missed their best player,

Erling Haaland

due to injury, although he should be fit by the time of their clash with Sevilla.

Considering all that, we don’t give Borussia Dortmund much of a chance when it comes to guessing

who will win the Champions League title in 2021

. They will be eliminated against Sevilla in the next round.

No European top team has been as erratic and unpredictable as Ronald Koeman's Barcelona this season. Domestically, the Catalans have been a disaster as they are at the 8th place with only 14 points from 11 games.

They did well in the Champions League with a run of 5 consecutive wins, including a 2-0 win away at

, but collapsed in the final game of the group stage and handed Bianconeri the top after a horrible 3-0 defeat at the Camp Nou.

Despite their inconsistency, Barcelona have shown promising signs comparing to their last campaign. They have the second best attacking record in the competition this year with 15 goals scored in 6 matches.

They have also been the best team in terms of goal scoring opportunities (108 chances created-48 of them on target). And despite all the drama he has endured in the past few months,

Lionel Messi

has still been Barcelona's best player with 3 goals and 4 assists in 5 matches.

Do they have a chance when it comes to decide who will win the Champions League title in 2021? They sure do but with the form they have been having in the past few seasons, it would be highly unlikely.

Barcelona have never been successful in the UCL when they had to play the away game outside the Camp Nue. Should they find their form, they can eliminate PSG in the last 16. Another Champions League Semi-final would be a big achievement for them while another heavy defeat will sink them further into crisis.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid

has been the opposite of Barcelona this season since they were incredible in La Liga, but needed a 3-2 win against Salzburg in their last group stage match to qualify to the last 16.

Diego Simeone's players started the season with a horrible 4-0 defeat against Bayern Munich. They were on the verge of finishing third with 3 back-to-back draws, but turned the tides in time to secure a very entertaining clash versus Chelsea in the knock-out stage.

Atletico have shown over the years that they are one of the toughest teams in the knock-out stages of any tournament. Under Diego Simeone's guidance, Their defense has always been their biggest advantage and With the arrival of

Luis Suarez

, this year they have a good attack line as well .Joao Felix is experiencing the form of his career and has been his team's best player in Europe with 3 goals.

Will they have chance when it comes to guessing

who will win the Champions League title in 2021?

They have shown they know how to handle the English teams in Europe as they eliminated Liverpool last season. Atletico will beat Chelsea and they can even dream of their first semi-final spot since 2016.

Chelsea is another team we analyze as we try to guess who will win the Champions League title this year. Last season Frank Lampard guided

to the last 8 in his first managerial experience in the Champions League and with the arrival of offensive trio, Werner, Ziyech and Havertz, his side has been much improved this season.

Chelsea topped their group ahead of Sevilla, Krasnodar and Rennes. Their best game was their incredible 4-0 away win at Sevilla, in which Olivier Giroud scored all the goals. Timo Werner has contributed the most for the Blues with 3 goals and 3 assists.

Few would give Chelsea a chance before the start of the new season when it comes to guessing

who will win the Champions League title this year

. They surely have what it takes to reach the latter stages of the competition, but they face a daunting task in the last 16. Our guess is that they will be eliminated against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid was handed a favorable draw with Atalanta in the next stage. Zinedine Zidane's players were uncharacteristically poor in the group stage. They suffered two losses against Shakhtar Donetsk, but two wins against Inter Milan and a 2-0 triumph against Monchengladbach in their last game secured them a date with Atalanta In the last 16s.

Madrid's defense is the main source of concern for Zidane and he should address the problems they have had without their captain, Sergio Ramos. Up in front things seems good enough as

Karim Benzema

has been their best player so far this season with four goals, two of which were scored in the final game and were crucial for Real on their way to qualification for the knock out stage.

Real Madrid

has not been able to reach the height they enjoyed ever since they won three consecutive titles from 2016 to 2018. However, considering the quality of their squad and their successful history in the competition, you can never count them off when guessing who will win the Champions League title in 2020-2021.

We think Real Madrid will go through the last 8 and might even reach the semi-final, but they just don't seem powerful enough to win the title this year.

The next team in our article on

who will win the 2020/21 Champions League

is Andrea Pirlo's Juventus. Bianconeri will be playing against

in the next round and can fancy a spot among the last eight if they continue on the form they have been having in recent weeks.

Juventus were emphatic as usual in the group stage. They won all their games except for the 2-0 home defeat against Barcelona. A defeat they took revenge for as they topped their group with a Ronaldo-inspired 3-0 win at Barcelona.

Alvaro Morata has been Juventus's best player so far with 6 goals and 1 assist, followed by Ronaldo with 4 goals and 1 assist. Juan Cuadrado has also been brilliant as the Colombian top the competition's assist chart with 5 assists.

It will be tough for Pirlo in his UCL managerial debut season to guide the Bianconeri to Champions League glory. However, they have the UCL's top goal scorer ever and five time title winner,

Cristiano Ronaldo

to guide them on their way. We think the Old Lady can reach the latter stages but they have to higher their level dramatically if they want to win their first UCL title since 1995.

Manchester City

Manchester City

is a strange case among the Champions League title challengers. They have been one of the strongest candidates in each of Pep Guardiola's four seasons in charge, yet the Spaniard genius manager seems cursed in Europa as for all his team's dominance in the group stages of recent seasons, they have not been able to go further than the quarter finals.

This season has been the same for the Citizens as they topped their group ahead of Porto, Marseille and Olympiacos. They won five of their games, scoring three goals in four of them. They will have to eliminate surprise of the season, Borussia Monchengladbach if they want to continue dreaming of their first ever Champions League title.

Ferran Torres has been City's best players with 4 goals and their midfielder mastermind,

Kevin de Bruyne

is the second best assist provider of the competition this season with 4.

Would you give them a chance when thinking of who will win the Champions League title in 2021? We believe they have what it takes to be the winners but the lack of experience and consistency will cost them once again and they won't go further than semi-final.

Paris Saint Germain

Tomas Tuchel's unpredictable

side will face Barcelona in the next round and with the form they have been having, it will be tough challenge for them.

PSG ended the group stage at the top of their hard group which consisted the likes of Leipzig and Manchester United. Their best game was the 5-1 win against Basaksehir while their only defeat was at the hands of Manchester United.

PSG's Brazilian magician,

seemed to be experiencing his best form since he left Barcelona at 2017 but he will need a miracle to heal in time from the heavy injury he suffered in the game against Lyon. He is the top scorer of the group stage with 6 goals (joint with Morata, Haaland and Rashford). His partner in crime, Kilian Mbappe has also been on a good form with 2 goals and 3 assists.

PSG made history by reaching their first ever UCL final last season, but they did not face any of the top teams until they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the final. So we just have to wait and see if they have any chance when it comes to decide who will win the Champions League title in 2021. Our guess? They journey will end at the hands of the Catalans and they will be eliminated in the next round.

Best Barcelona trios of all time

is experiencing one of the finest spells in its history under Jurgen Klopp as the German manager has guided them to UCL and Premier League titles in the past two seasons.

The Reds progressed to the knock-out stage by topping a seemingly easy group consisting of Ajax, Midtjylland and Atalanta. They had a shock 2-0 away defeat to Atalanta and a draw against Midtjylland, but bounced back to top their group and secure a game with Leipzig in the last 16.

Jurgen Klopp must find a way to do without his Charismatic leader,

Virgil Van Dijk

as the defender is ruled out of the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Their offense line, however seems more powerful than previous seasons as their new signing, Diogo Jota has wasted little time in fitting into Liverpool's playing system.

The Reds have won the Champions League title six times in their history and were finalists in two of the last three seasons. Moreover, it seems only Bayern Munich can match the quality of their squad. So you can never write them off when thinking of who will win the Champions League this year. We think they have a very good chance to reach another final, but they have to be in their best form to win the title.

Bayern Munich

The last team in our article on who will win the 2020/21 Champions League is last season's winner,

Bayern Munich

. In terms of team spirit and squad quality, Hansi Flick's side is still the team to beat in the new season.

The Bavarians were rampant in the group stage as they qualified as the group winners with 5 straight wins. Their only draw came against Atletico Madrid in their final game when they already secured top spot.

With 18 goals scored in 6 matches, Bayern has the best offensive record among the last 16 teams. The scorer of Bayern's winning goal in last season's final, Kingsley Coman has been the team's most effective player with 3 goals and 2 assists. Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Muller has scored four goals each and Last season's best Player and top scorer of the competition,

Robert Lewandowsky

has also netted three times.

Bayern's only weak point this season has been their defense as injuries and fatigue have taken their toll on the team's overall performance. Bayern has conceded 16 goals in their first 12 matches in Bundesliga and Flick must improve the defensive issues if he wants to be the second manager in the competition's history after Zinedine Zidane to defend the title.

Our guess? Bayern Munich will win be the winners of this year's Champions League season.

So here it was! Our article on who will win the Champions League title in 2021. Do you agree with our predictions at SportMob? Which team do you think has the best chance to win the title?
