On 25 July 2019, William Saliba became one of the

by signing a five-year contract. When he was 6, the young talent started football under Kylian Mbappe's father. In 2016, William joined

Saint-Etienne

, and when he was 17, he officially signed the contract with the team. In the following year, Arsenal had a tough competition with

Tottenham Hotspur

to sign the young star; finally, the French defender chose the Gunners.

In the 2019-20 season, the young footballer returned to his former club on loan. In the summer, Saliba moved to the Gunners.

After completing one of the most expensive Arsenal signings ever, Arsenal's fans expect him gained a regular place, but he is still yet to make a debut for the London club under Mikel Arteta, and Saliba is unhappy.

"I’m fed up with the situation because, as you could see, we tried to find a way in the last few days [of the transfer window] to give him some football. At the moment, with the number of central defenders we have in the team, we have to leave him out of the squad, which is painful because, we’ve had some injuries and we could’ve used him, but it’s part of this profession," said Mikel Arteta.
