Premier League predictions who will win the premier league in 2021?

Fri 04 December 2020 | 14:30

A look at the chances of the top teams in the new Premier League season to see who will win the Premier League in 2021.

The new Premier League season is one of the most unique ones in the history of English domestic football. Unlike the last few years in which Liverpool and Manchester city dominated the league and seemed unreachable, this there seem to be no superior force among the top six.

The reason for this lies in last season's course of events where the

Premier League

was suspended for three months due to COVID-19 Pandemic. So it was not until July 2020 that the League officially ended and Liverpool were crowned champions.

Moreover, giants of the Premier League like Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea had to play in the latter stages of the European competitions until mid-August 2020 and virtually had no time for the usual pre-season preparations.

The heavy schedule has had its toll on players and the big teams have faced injury crisis and dips in form from early stages of the new season. On the other hand, the usual underdogs have had more rest and preparation and are making life for the title contenders harder than usual.

Almost a quarter of the season has passed with Tottenham leading the table with 21 points from 10 games, followed by the title defenders,

with the same points. Frank Lampard's much-improved Chelsea side is at the third place with 19 points. Leicester City has also been superb since the start of the season and occupies the fourth place with 18 points.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have struggles since the start of the season and are at 9th, 11th and 14th place respectively, but few would write them off when it comes to predicting

who will win the premier league in 2021

Trying to answer the big question: who will win the premier league in 2021?

In the following article we will look into the current form of the top ten teams of the 2020-21 Premier League season to try to see who is going to win the premier league 2020-2021?

is the first team in our article on who will win the premier league this year. Carlo Ancelotti's exciting Everton side started the season superbly with seven wins out of their first seven games across all competitions. The run was their best start in the history of the club, yet their fairytale did not last long and their form dropped when they lost their best player, James Rodriguez due to injury.

Without the creativity of James Rodriguez, their best goal scorer, Calvin covert found it difficult to continue his fine streak in front of the goal. A run of 5 winless games from October to November costed Everton greatly and they were dropped from the top of the table to the 8th place in less than a month.

Everton's best game was a 5-2 win against West Bromwich in the second week of the season.

Calvin Covert

has been Everton's best goal scorer this season with 10 goals in as many matches.

Despite their recent loss of form, Everton has what it takes to be among the top teams of the league at the end of the season. They might have very little chance of winning the title, but either a UCL or a Europa League spot would be a huge achievement for the blue side of the Merseyside. Our guess? Everton will end the league between sixth and tenth in the table.

Aston Villa

Few would give

Aston Villa

a chance before the start of the new season when it comes to guessing who will win the EPL in 2020-2021. After all, they narrowly avoided relegation last season as they ended at 17th place, one point above the relegation zone.

However Aston Villa is one of the oldest clubs in the English football. They were the leagues superior team in the mid twentieth Century and have won 7 Premier League titles in their history.

Moreover, Aston Villa were one of the founder members of the Football League in 1888 and of the Premier League in 1992. Villa are one of only five English clubs to have won the European Cup.

Dean Smith's Players has been the biggest surprise of the season so far. Their offensive performances have captured the heart of football fans around the world. In

Jack Gealish

they have one of the most gifted playmakers of the Premier League and their forward, Olli Watkins has been on fire with 7 goals in 9 games.

Aston Villa has achieved great results since the beginning of the season, with their incredible 7-2 hammering of title-defenders, Liverpool their biggest win so far.

They were also victorious against Leicester City (1-0) and Arsenal (3-0). However, a loss of form in November has seen them drop down the table to the tenth place, although they have a game in hand.

Having said all that, would you give them a chance when it comes to guessing

who will win the Premier League in 2021

? It seems highly unlikely that they can be consistent enough to achieve such a feat, but we think they have the necessary weapons to reach the Europa League against all odds.

It has been a long time since

was considered among the Premier League's title challengers. Arsenal's famous fans were furious with Arsene Wenger for ending his last season's repetitively at the fourth place, but they have been dreaming of Champions League football ever since the departure of Wenger.

Arsenal had disastrous campaigns under Unai Emery and failed to get back his place among the top six teams of the Premier League. However, things started to change for the better when Pep Guardiola's assistant and former Arsenal player, Michael Arteta was appointed as the new manager of the club.

With Arteta in charge, The Gunners looked a different team and even won two titles in the first half of 2020, The Community Shield and the FA Cup. They also started the 2020-21 season on high with three consecutive wins against Fulham, West ham and Leicester City.

However their form soon dropped and many defeats including games against Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa has put them at the 14th place.

Despite their recent bad results, Arsenal has one of the best squads in the Premier League. Their offensive trio of

, Pepe and Lacazette has proven many times that they can cause havoc for any team. In addition, the arrival of Thomas Party from Atletico Madrid has given them much needed depth in the middle of the pitch.

Considering all that, we don’t give Arsenal much chance when it comes to guessing who will win the Premier League in 2021. Still, they can still challenge for their first UCL spot after Arsene Wenger.

ended the 2019-20 season in the 11th place and even their fans would not dream of such a great start to the new season. However, Ralph Hasenhuttl's players have been amazing in the early stages of their campaign as they occupy the 6th place after 10 games.

Southampton started the season with two back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace (1-0) and Tottenham (5-2) but they were able to turn the tides and now are only 2 points below leaders Leicester City. A run of 5 wins and 1 draw (3-3 against Chelsea) has put them in a very favorable position.

Danny Ings

has been Southampton's best player with 5 goals so far this season. Their best result was an entertaining 4-3 win against Aston Villa on match day seven. With the win against Villa they experienced being Premier League leaders for the first time in their history, albeit temporarily.

Whether they can keep the tempo and stay at the top positions of the table is yet to be seen. They have not faced five out of the top six teams of England and we just have a to wait and see if they have any chance when it comes to decide who will win the premier league in 2021. Our guess? They will finish the league between the 6th and the 10th place.

Manchester United

No team has been as inconsistent as

Manchester United

in the new season of English football. On one hand they had some impressive wins in the Champions League against PSG (3-1) and Leipzig (5-0) and on the other hand they were humiliated 6-1 in their home against Tottenham at the Premier League.

Last season, The Red Devils were able to bounce back from their bad results and end the league at the third place. This season seems like a similar scenario as they have been losing important points and are now in the 9th place with only 16 points from 9 games.

Still, reaching consistency is going to be a challenge for United as many of their biggest stars has been below par this season.

Paul Pogba

has been a shadow of himself and their best player last season, Bruno Fernandez has struggled to recapture his form.

The arrival of new signings like Donny Van de Beek has not been helpful either as the Dutch creative midfielder is yet to find a place in the starting line-up.

Manchester United has improved a lot since the November international break. A qualification to UCL's Knockout stages would give them back the confidence they need in the following weeks.

Do they have a chance when it comes to decide

who will win the premier league in 2021

? They sure have but with the form they have been having, it would be highly unlikely. Another Champions League Qualification would be an achievement for them.

Leicester City

Leicester City

is currently at the 4th place of the Premier League table with 18 points from 10 games, although they are followed closely by Wolverhampton (17) and Everton (17).

The Foxes were Liverpool's only threat on their way to the Premier League title last season, but an incredible loss of form in the last weeks costed them the Champions League qualification as they eventually ended at fifth place.

Leicester City started the 20-21 season with three consecutive wins, the best of them a 5-2 away win against Manchester City. They tumbled temporarily and suffered two back-to-back defeats against West ham (3-0) and Aston Villa (1-0).

However, Brandon Rogers and his team reacted quickly and with another three consecutive wins reached the top of the table by the 8th week of the season. However, two back-to-back defeats have costed them a lot in recent weeks.

Their best player,

Jamie Vardy

will soon celebrate his 34th birthday, but he has shown no sign of slowing down in front of the goal and with 8 goals is one of the league's top scorers this season.

Vardy won the best scorer award last season and with his current form, Leicester are dreaming of another memorable campaign after their title-winning campaign in the 2015-16 season.

Would you give them a chance when you think about who will win the premier league in 2021? We think they have what it takes to be the winners but the lack of experience and consistence will cost them eventually and they will finish somewhere between 5th and 8th place.

Chelsea is another team we analyze as we try to guess who will win the EPL this year. Last season Frank Lampard guided

to the third place in his first managerial experience in the Premier League.

Lampard's Last Season success was rewarded by the owners of the club as they splash the cash in the transfer window and bought some of the best promising stars of today's football, most notably Timo Werner, Kai Harwets and Hakim Ziyech.

The trio has been scoring freely since the start of the new season and with 22 goals scored, Chelsea now have the best offensive record in the Premier League (tied with Liverpool). However, their defense has been a big cause of concern as the defensive errors have cost the Blues very important points.

Chelsea had to settle for two 3-3 draws against West Bromwich and Southampton. Their only defeat was against Liverpool (2-0) on match day two and their best win was against Brighton (3-1) in the opening week of the season.

Timo Werner

has been the best player of the Blues. The German lethal finisher has scored 4 goals so far this season and will be key to Chelsea hopes in the remainder of the season.

Considering the quality of their squad you can never count them off when you are guessing

who will win the EPL in 2020-2021

. Our guess is they will finish either at third or fourth place as it will be hard for the new signings to adopt so quickly to the high demand of the Premier League.

Manchester City

Life has never been so hard for Pep Guardiola and his team ever since the Spaniard first arrived in the Premier League in 2016.

Manchester City

has suffered two defeat in their first 9 games of the season and three 1-1 draws against Leeds United, Liverpool and West ham has put them in a bad position in the league.

Manchester City are now sitting in the 11th place after earning only 15 points from 9 games. They have a game in hand as their first game of the season against Aston Villa was suspended because of their presence in the latter stages of the 19-20 Champions League.

For the first time under Pep Guardiola, Manchester City failed to win any silverware last season. They were able to finish second and qualify for the Champions League but they ended the season 18 points behind winners, Liverpool.

Luck has not been on City's side this season either as with the absence of

Sergio Aguero

, they have struggled in front of the goal. City has scored only 15 goals in their 9 games and with 11 goals conceded, their defense does not look assuring either.

Despite their uncharacteristically bad start to the new season, City has always been among the favorites to win the title in recent years. they have won the Premier League title three times in the past seven years and it seems only Liverpool can match the quality of their squad. So you can never write them off when thinking of

who will win the premier league this year

Our guess is they will regain their form in the coming weeks but will eventually end up either at third or fourth place.

The next team in our article on who

will win the EPL this year is Jose Mourinho's

. Last season they started so bad that the club directors had no choice but to sack their longtime successful coach, Mauricio Pochetino.

They hired Jose Mourinho to guide them back to the higher spots on the table and their gamble with the Charismatic Portuguese paid off as they finished the 2019-20 season at the 6th Place.

The new season started for Tottenham with 1-0 defeat against Everton, but they found their form and went on to win 6 out of their next 9 games, most impressing of them a 6-1 win against Manchester United at the Old Trafford.

Mourinho owes much of the team's fine run to his lethal offensive due,

Harry Kane

and Song Hung Min. together they have produced 16 goals so far this season and their telepathic partnership is going to be a key factor for Tottenham if they want to win their first Premier League title. Our guess is that Tottenham is going to end the league as the runners-up.

The last team in our article on

who will win the EPL this year

is last season's winner, Liverpool. In terms of team spirit and squad quality, Jurgen Klopp's are still the team to beat in the new season. However their start has been erratic as they suffered a horrible 7-2 defeat against Aston Villa.

Liverpool's best games so far this season were their two wins against Arsenal (3-1) and Chelsea (2-0). They also won the opening game of the season by four goals to three in a wildly entertaining clash against newly promoted

Leeds United

Jurgen Klopp has been unlucky so far this season with many of his players suffering long term injuries. They will have to adopt to life without

Virgil Van Dijk

after the Dutch suffered a season-long injury against Everton last month.

However, new signing Diogo Jota has been on fire for Liverpool and Allison is back between the sticks as the Reds are looking forward for their second Premier League title in a row.

As for the question of who will win the premier league this year after all? We think it's going to
