It is impossible to be a football fan and not hear the name of AC Milan! In this article, after reviewing the honors of this proud club, we will present a list of the Best AC Milan players of all time in our opinion!

Founded in 1899, AC Milan Club, or Milan for short, is a professional football club located in Milan, Italy.

Milan, one of the most prestigious Italian clubs, is the fourth most successful club in the world and, with a total of 18 trophies, is the most successful European team after Real Madrid.

AC Milan is higher than its both rivals, Inter Milan and Juventus.

In the following, we will briefly review the honors of AC Milan club. Then we will present a list of greatest AC Milan players of all time in our opinion, and share the personal and professional backgrounds of each of these best AC Milan players ever.

The first player of the list of the greatest AC Milan players of all time in our opinion is the legend of the club, Paolo Cesare Maldini!

Among the fans of Milan, the position of Paolo Madini is unrivaled and unique. This Italian football legend, one of the greatest footballers of all time, retired from the same club where he started his football career: AC Milan!

But Maldini's retirement from professional football did not mean saying goodbye to the club that was his home! He stayed with Milan even after retiring and continued to work with the club as technical director.

Among the honors of this brilliant player with AC Milan we can mention seven Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, five Supercoppa Italiana, five European Cup/Champions Leagues, four UEFA Super Cup, two Intercontinental Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in 2007.

And from the individual point of view, Maldini was World Soccer Player of the Year (1), El País European Player of the Year (1), FIFA World Player of the Year (1), Serie A Defender of the Year (1), and UEFA Club Defender of the Year in 2007.

He was a part of UEFA European Championship Team of the Tournament (3), FIFA World Cup All-Star Team (2), ESM Team of the Year (4), FIFA World Cup Dream Team (1), FIFA XI (1), UEFA Team of the Year (2), FIFA 100. He is inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame, A.C. Milan Hall of Fame and Walk of Fame of Italian sport.

After the retirement of Paolo Maldini, the Milan No. 3 shirt was not given to another player. The only way for a player to be given the No. 3 shirt again is for one of Paolo's sons, Christian or Daniel.

The next player in the list of best AC Milan players of all time in our opinion is Franco Baresi.

The second player in the list of the best AC Milan footballers of all time in our opinion is Franchino Baresi.

Another legend of Milan, who has also spent all his professional football career in this club and in these 20 years, Baresi was the team captain for the last 15 years!

Ranked 19th on the list of the 100 greatest players of the 20th century, he was one of the key players in one of the club's best peak times.

Just like shirt number 3, Milan shirt number 6 retired after Baresi's retirement. Unfortunately, this time there is no chance that this shirt will be given to another player.

His honors with AC Milan are six Serie A titles, two Serie B titles, four Supercoppa Italiana, three European Cup/UEFA Champions League, two UEFA Super Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups.

And from the individual point of view, he was Coppa Italia top scorer (1), and Guerin d'Oro (Serie A Footballer of the Year) (1). Bares was a player in FIFA World Cup All-Star Team of 1990 and FIFA 100, and he was named A.C. Milan Player of the Century in 1999 and AIC Serie A Player of the Century in 2000.

He is inducted into the A.C. Milan Hall of Fame and Italian Football Hall of Fame.

The next player in the list of best players in AC Milan history in our opinion is Marcel van Basten.

One of those players who, if his injury did not force him to say goodbye to football early at the age of 28, would have been able to get a much higher position!

Known for his ability to control the ball accurately, stunning headers, rebellious and fast shots and clever attacks, Marcel van Basten moved from Ajax to Milan in 1987 and played for the team for eight seasons. 125 goals in the 2011 match, as one of the club's best foreign players, remained in the hearts of the Rossoneri fans.

His honors with AC Milan are three Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana, two European Cup/UEFA Champions Leagues, one European Supercup in 1989, and two Intercontinental Cups in 1989 and 1990.

And from the individual point of view, he won Ballon d'Or 3 times, Serie A Golden Boot twice, European Golden Boot once, World Golden Boot once, Bravo Award once, European Silver Boot once, Onze d'Argent twice, and Onze d'Or twice. Marcel van Basten was FIFA World Player of the Year (1), UEFA Best Player of the Year (3), European Cup Top Scorer (1), Eredivisie Top Scorer (4), Dutch Footballer of the Year (1), IFFHS World’s Best Player (2), World Soccer Player of the Year (2).

He was named in UEFA European Championship Team of the Tournament in 1988 and 1992, FIFA 100 (List of the greatest living footballers picked by Pelé) in 2004, and UEFA Euro All-time XI published 2016.

Inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame and A.C. Milan Hall of Fame, he is one of the best players in Serie A and AC Milan history!

The next player of our list of best AC Milan footballers of all time in our opinion is Gianni Rivera.

He spent only the first year of his career at Mena, after which he spent 19 years at AC Milan, of which he was captain for 13 years.

Rivera made his Serie A debut at the age of 15 years and 288 days, and is the highest scoring midfielder in the history of Serie A.

His ability to play and create attacking and counterattacking opportunities created unexpected scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

The interesting and relatively unique thing about Rivera is that this Italy's "Golden Boy" became a professional politician after retiring from football, and he is currently a Member of the European Parliament for the Uniti nell'Ulivo party.

His honors with AC Milan is are three Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia, two European Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups, and Intercontinental Cup in 1969.

And from the individual point of view, he was Coppa Italia Top-scorer (2), Serie A Top-scorer (1), IFFHS Italian Player of the 20th Century, FFHS European Player of the 20th Century (12th), IFFHS World Player of the 20th Century (19th), AC Milan Player of the 20th Century, and Golden Foot "Football Legends". He won the Ballon d'Or in 1969, and was a player of FIFA XI in 1967 and FIFA 100.

Inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame, the Walk of Fame of Italian sport, and A.C. Milan Hall of Fame, he is definitely one of the best players on our list.

Date of death: 15 September 1995 (aged 73)

Place of death: Alghero, Italy

Height: 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in)

The next player in the list of the best footballers in the history of AC Milan in our opinion is Nils Gunnar Nordahl.

He was part of the successful Milan team in the 1950s and 60s, with his goals playing an important role in Milan's victories and points.

No player has been to Serie A Capocannoniere as many times as Gunnar Nordahl and this record is so unattainable that the only chance to break it is the emergence of a new superstar in Serie A football.

His honors with AC Milan are two Serie A titles in 1950–51 and 1954–55, and two Latin Cup in 1950–51 and 1955–56.

And from the individual point of view, he was Swedish Footballer of the Year (1), Allsvenskan Top scorer (4), Olympic Games Top Scorer (1) and Italian Serie A Top Scorer (5). He was inducted into the A.C. Milan Hall of Fame.

The next player of the list of all-time greatest AC Milan players in our opinion is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, better known as Kaka.

Much of Kaka's appeal is due to his mastery of ball control and his speed and skill in bypassing opposing defenders, but unfortunately successive injuries did not allow him to show his full potential. However, his list of honors is so clear that this player really does not need to be introduced!

Among his honors with AC Milan we can mention one Serie A title, one Supercoppa Italiana, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup.

And from the individual point of view, Kaka was FIFA World Player of the Year (1), FIFPro World Player of the Year (1), UEFA Champions League top scorer (1), UEFA Club Forward of the Year (1), UEFA Club Footballer of the Year (1), UEFA Champions League top assist provider (2), UEFA Club Midfielder of the Year (1), World Soccer Player of the Year (1), Serie A Foreign Footballer of the Year (3), and Serie A Footballer of the Year (2).

He was a part of FIFPro World XI (3) and UEFA Team of the Year (3), and won the Ballon d'Or (1), UEFA Champions League Bronze Foot (1), Onze d'Or (1), FIFA Club World Cup Golden Ball (1), and FIFA Confederations Cup Golden Ball in2009, and was inducted into the A.C. Milan Hall of Fame.

In the opinion of many experts, and of course many of his fans, everything in the professional life of this player was excellent and flawless, except for his mistake in leaving Milan and joining Chelsea!

His honors with AC Milan are one Serie A title, one Coppa Italia, one Supercoppa Italiana, one UEFA Champions League, and one UEFA Super Cup.

And from the individual point of view, he was Ukrainian Footballer of the Year (6), and Serie A Foreign Footballer of the Year (1). He won one Ballon d'Or and Golden Foot award in 2005. Full name: Andrea Pirlo

The next player in the list of all-time greatest AC Milan players in our opinion is Andrea Pirlo.

In a less common occurrence, Pirlo came from Inter to their main rival, Milan! And time has shown that Inter lost their chance to have one of the best players of his generation. Pirlo was known for his composure in possession, and drew praise for his touch, technique, balance, elegance, close control, and dribbling ability.

His honors with AC Milan are two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, one Supercoppa Italiana, two UEFA Champions League, two UEFA Super Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup.

And from the individual point of view, he was UEFA European Under-21 Championship Golden Player (1), UEFA European Under-21 Championship Top Scorer (1), Serie A Footballer of the Year (3), Serie A Top Assist Provider (1), and Serie A Midfielder of the Year (1). Add unparalleled physical strength and rogue shots to this description, and he becomes one of the best players of all time!

A brilliant player in one of the brightest times of Milan!

He was part of the "Golden Age" team of Milan, which was unrivaled in European football for many years. He spent the entire 21 years of his football career in Milan and spent only one year on loan at Monza.

Some of his honors with AC Milan are 7 Serie A titles, 1 Coppa Italia, 5 Supercoppa Italiana, 5 European Cup/UEFA Champions Leagues, 4 European Super Cup/UEFA Super Cups, and 2 Intercontinental Cups.

Inducted into the A.C. Milan Hall of Fame, he certainly deserve to be one of the top ten players in the history of AC Milan!
