Leicester City Football Club was originally founded by a group of Wyggeston School boys in 1884 as "Leicester Fosse" and joined the Football Association of England in 1890.
After the end of World War I in 1919, due to financial problems, the name of the club was changed to its current name, and in the twenties, Leicester City, after returning to the first level of English football, gained many honors.
Because Leicester is one of the most important fox hunting grounds in the UK, in 1948 the fox was chosen as the symbol of Leicester City Club.
