History, foundation and honors of Lazio Club

Lazio top scorers of all time

Lazio Football Club was founded in 1900. The club has 37 sports subdivisions, among which its football team is the best known and most popular. This football team has spent most of its history in the top ranks of Italian football and has won numerous honors at the regional, national and international levels.

Lazio and AS Roma play their home games at their joint stadium, Olympic Stadium in Rome. With a capacity of just over 72,000, it is the second largest stadium in Italy after San Siro.

The Lazio team uniform is designed using the colors white and sky blue, inspired by the Greek national emblem. The use of these colors has earned the club the nickname biancocelesti.

The traditional symbol of the Lazio club is the eagle. The emblem was chosen by Luigi Bigiarelli, one of the founding members of the club, and refers to the symbol of the army of the ancient Roman Empire. Lazio's use of the symbol has given the club two titles: Aquilotti (Young Eagles) and Le Aquile (Eagles).

The current club logo is a golden eagle on top of a white shield with a blue border, and inside the shield, the club name and a smaller three-part shield are designed in club colors.

Lazio is the sixth most popular football club in Italy, with around 3.5% of football fans, according to a survey by Doxa Institutre - L'Expresso in April 2006.

The long-standing rival of the Lazio football team is the AS Roma team. The competition between the two hometown teams is called Rome Derby (Italian: Derby della Capitale) and is one of the hottest and most emotional competitions of football rivals in the world. In addition, Lazio has a strong competition with Napoli.

An interesting thing about the Lazio football team is that in the 2004-2003 season, it was archived in honor of the fans of Club No. 12 and will no longer be given to a player.

Lazio represents the upper middle class of Italy and has had a slightly fascist and racist theme throughout its history. Lazio, for example, Mussolini was one of the most famous fans of Lazio, and in addition, Lazio did not have any black players on its roster until 2001, when he bought black Fabio Liverani.

Lazio is the first Italian club to become a joint stock company. Currently, just over 61% of Lazio shares are owned by Claudio Lotito, and the rest of the company is owned by other shareholders.

According to The Football Money League, published by Deloitte Consultants, Lazio was the 20th highest paid club in the world in the 2004-05 season, with an estimated revenue of € 83 million.
