Jimmy Greaves

James Peter Greaves was born on 20 February 1940. He started his football career in Chelsea in 1957 and had great performances there.

After a couple of  years, in December 1961, Jimmy Greaves had a negotiation with Bill Nicholson and later on by a £99,999 contract he joined Tottenham– the unusual fee was intended to remove Greaves of the pressure of being the first £100,000 player in British football. His first game in the Spurs shirt was for the reserve team on 9 December 1961.

His professional life was full of honors and happy moments. He was England's fourth highest international goal scorer with 44 goals, the highest goal scorer in the history of English top-flight football (357 goals), and the seventh

highest goal scorers ever. He had also scored more hat-tricks (six) for England than anyone else.

The legendary Greaves from 1961 till 1970 had 379 appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and scored 266 goals. His records indeed seem unwinnable.

Bobby Smith

Clifford William Jones was born on 7 February 1935 in Swansea, Glamorgan, to a footballing family. His father Ivor; uncles Shoni, Emlyn, Bryn, and Bert; brother Bryn; and Cousin Ken were also all players. Being a footballer was their heritage! In 1952, when he was 17, he joined Billy McCandless' Swansea Town and became his brother counterpart. He stayed there for almost 6 years and in February 1958 by a £35,000 contract he joined Tottenham.

He made his debut for the club on 22 February 1958 in the away match against Arsenal at Highbury. His debut with the Spurs was a bit disappointing, he broke his leg in a tackle with Peter Baker during pre-season training in the summer of 1958, but he had a memorable comeback.

Having passed his recovery, he became a prolific goalscorer for the club, scoring 25 goals in all appearances in the 1959–60 season and later on considered as a key member of the double-winning team of the 1960–61 season, he scored 19 goals that season. He was likewise part of the unbeaten Spurs sides in the 1962 FA Cup Final and 1963 European Cup Winners Cup Final. From 1958 till 1968, he played for Tottenham and had 318 appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and scored 159goals.

Jermain Colin Defoe was born on 7 October 1982 in Beckton, Greater London and started his football as a kid in Sunday league team Senrab, well known in London for producing players such as Lee Bowyer, John Terry, Ashley Cole, and Ledley King, and then in 1997, joined the FA National School of Excellence at Lilleshall, Shropshire, as a 14-year-old teenage.

In 1999, he took a controversial decision and joined West Ham United- a professional club- and made his first-team debut in a League Cup match against Walsall in September 2000. 4 four years later, west ham accepted Tottenham's offer in the January transfer window. Defoe joined Tottenham in February 2004 by an initial fee of £6 million contract, rising to £7 million depending on "specific performance criteria".

Defoe registered his arrival at Tottenham with a goal on his debut in the 4–3 home win over Portsmouth in February 2004; his great performances were proven in his very first step. He was a member of the Spurs for almost a decade; between 2004-2014 he had 363 appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and scored 143 goals.

George Hunt

George Samuel Hunt was born on 22 February 1910 in Mexborough, Yorkshire, and started his football career in local clubs. After some unsuccessful trial for different clubs, he joined Chesterfield from Barnsley-based club Regent Street Congregational in 1929.

But he didn't stay there that much, just after a year this great footballer, in June 1930 by a £1,500 contract joined Tottenham. He had spent seven seasons with the Spurs and as a prolific goal scorer was the club's top scorer for three consecutive seasons, from 1931–32 to 1933–34, and his 32 league goals in 1932–33 helped Tottenham gain promotion to the First Division. George Hunt from 1930 till 1937 had 198 appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and scored 138 goals.

Leonard Stanley Duquemin was born on 17 July 1924 and he was the first famous footballer to come from the Channel Islands-an archipelago in the English Channel, off the French coast of Normandy. He started his football with a single appearance in Colchester United in 1946. Later that year he joined Tottenham and for more than a decade, he played for the Spurs.

Alan John Gilzean was born on 22 October 1938. He started his football career with the local side Coupar Angus Juniors and then he signed his first professional contract with Dundee in February 1957. In December 1964, he had been transferred to Tottenham by a £72,500 contract and made his debut a week later.

little by little he found his proper position in the team and as a creative forward created an effective goal-scoring partnership beside stream favorite Jimmy Greaves, and together they were referred to by fans as the "G-Men". Edward Paul Sheringham was born on 2 April 1966. When he was 16, he began his professional career at Millwall in 1982 and quickly became a first choice selection at Millwall and during the late 1980s formed a remarkable partnership with Tony Cascarino. He was the club's top goals corer in four seasons. In 1992, despite his good position in his former club, he decided to join Tottenham. His brilliant debut with the spurs was the proof of his decision.

He had a victorious start to his career at the club by being the Premiership's top goal scorer in its inaugural season, he had scored 22 goals. Sheringham was so popular with the Tottenham fans and by the mid-1990s was strongly proved as one of the most highly-rated strikers in the Premiership. Robert David Keane was born on 8 July 1980 in the Tallaght suburb of Dublin. He began his football career with local club Fettercairn, later on at the age of 10 he joined the Dublin schoolboy team, Crumlin United, where his brilliant football talent had been explored and soon got offers from two famous clubs, Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He preferred Wanderers over the former, concluding that it would be harder to break into the first team at Liverpool.

Leslie Donald Bennett was born on 10 January 1918. in May 1939 when he was a 21-year-old boy, he joined Tottenham. Les Bennet passed away on 29 April 1999.

James Henry Dimmock was born on 5 December 1900 in Edmonton. Before his debut as an amateur for Tottenham Hotspur in 1916 he played junior football for Park Avenue and Gothic Works. He can be considered as one of the first footballers in England since, during First World War, he played for Clapton Orient and Edmonton Ramblers.

On 4 October 1919, he made his debut for the spurs in a match at Lincoln City.  Dimmock was the only player in the club's history to play 400 league games and score 100 league goals. He also remains the youngest Tottenham player to appear in an FA Cup Final. His mazy runs and trickery made him so popular. between 1919-31 he had 438 appearances and scored 112 goals. This memorable footballer passed away on 23 December 1972.

Glenn Hoddle

Hoddle was born on 27 October 1957 in Hayes, Middlesex. Before being one of the Tottenham influential footballers, he was a big fan of the Spurs. Time passed and at the age of 12, on 17 April 1974, he joined the club as a junior. He made his Spurs first-team appearance as a 17-year-old against Norwich City on 30 August 1975.
