He made his debut four days later, entering the game as a 61st-minute substitute for Nathan Elder in the 1–0 loss toNorthampton Town
. He began Albion's next game, on 2 February at their home stadium toCrewe Alexandra

On 17 October 2009, Murray won and scored a penalty for a winner in a 2–1 loss atTranmere Rovers
, but after three minutes, he was taken out of the game for another yellow card. He netted four goals in Brighton's 5–2 victory atWycombe Wanderers
on 28 December, a result that eliminated Brighton's threat of relegation.
Murray's season finished on 24 April 2010 with Brighton's 2–1 victory againstBristol Rovers

The 2010–11 season was Murray's best season so far at Brighton. He scored 22 goals and finished runner-up toCraig Mackail-Smith

Ashley Luke Barnes is an English pro football player who plays as a striker for Premier League clubBurnley
and is one of the Brighton top scorers of all time. Barnes previously played forSalisbury City

He was signed by Austria in their youth international team and appeared in one game for their U-20 team in 2008, but his request for citizenship was denied in 2019.
Afterward, Barnes joined Brighton & Hove Albion as part of a loan till the end of the season. He netted a goal on his debut versusTranmere Rovers
two days later, ten minutes into the game in which he entered as a substitute.
On 8 July 2010, Barnes signed a two-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion, where he became one of the Brighton highest goal scorers ever, after transferring for an undisclosed fee from Plymouth Argyle. Barnes ended the season as Brighton's second-best goalscorer while trailing Glenn Murray, with 20 goals in 49 games. On 9 March 2013, Barnes got a red card in the match againstBolton Wanderers

He was then suspended for seven games by the Football Association. The fans and manager Gus Poyet criticized Barnes for his behavior because it left the club with only one striker on the roster, because Will Hoskins and Craig Mackail-Smith were already injured and couldn't play for the remainder of the season.

In January 2007, Brighton & Hove Albion made an ineffective £100,000 offer to Forster. Forster was selected team captain after Dean Hammond left the team in January 2008 and was officially appointed by the new manager Micky Adams for the 2008–09 season. He won the League One Player of The Month title for September 2009 as a result of scoring five goals in four games.
After losing his position on the first team due to a contract disagreement with the current manager Gus Poyet, Forster moved from Brighton toCharlton Athletic
