Football world has always been the most mesmerizing one for many and it will never get boring as there are always new brilliant talents and stars shining in this world.

2019 was a year for many of these stars to prove they deserve being in some of the most famous clubs all over the world and in this matter we decided to go through all that happened in soccer world during the year and make a list of the best forwards in 2019.

However, it has to be mentioned that there still many other great forwards in mesmerizing world of football that we cannot even count them all and our list contains just a group of them who have had brilliant performance during 2019 and had made it even more interesting. Who is the best forward of all time? Messi for sure and that makes him the best forward in 2019 as well. The 34-year-old captain seems unstoppable as he continued his unbelievable records in 2019. During 2018/19 season he scored 51 goals in 50 games, while in 2019/20, he has netted 15 goals in 18 matches. That’s why he is the first player chosen to be on our list.

Just 13 days after the beginning of 2019, Messi scored his 400th La Liga goal in his 435th league appearance in a 3-0 home win over Eibar, becoming the first player ever to manage this tally in just one of Europe's top five leagues.

He was chosen as the Best FIFA Men’s player of the year for the 6th time, & The Ballon D’or winner for the 6th time in 2019 and he also scored three hat-tricks during this year.

Robert Lewandowski

The Bayern Munich striker performed brilliantly in 2019, scoring lots of goals for the Bundesliga team and earning his position on the list of best forwards in 2019-2020.

The year started for Lewandowski with joy and continued the same. On 9 February 2019, the 31-year-old scored in the team’s 3-1 win over Schalke and became the club's third-highest goalscorer of all-time, besides Roland Wohlfarth. Just one month later he surpassed Wohlfarth after scoring a brace in a 5-1 win over Gladbach. He continued his full of honor year and on 26 November 2019, the Polish player scored 4 goals in under 15 minutes in their match against Red Star Belgrade which ended in a 6-0 result. These goals set a new record for the fastest time to score four goals in a Champions League match.

Kylian Mbappé

  • 2018/19: 39 goals and 17 assists in 43 games
  • 2019/20: 18 goals and 9 assists in 19 games

The 21-year-old is currently one of the best strikers in the world and his performance has been brilliant in 2019.

He started 2019 with a hat-trick on 19th January in PSG’s 9-0 win over Guingamp. It is interesting to know that he was one of the two players to do so as the other one was Cavani.

Thanks to Mbappe PSG became Ligue 1 champions in 2018/19 and the young forward won the Player of the Year award, while he also became the season’s top goalscorer with 33 goals.

2019/20 wasn’t much different as Kylian continued bringing honor to PSG. On 22 October, he came off the bench and scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Belgian side Club Brugge in the Champions League and at the age of 20 years and 306 days, became the youngest player ever to score at least 15 goals in the competition.

Raheem Sterling

  • 2018/19: 25 goals and 18 assists in 51 games

There is no doubt that Sterling was one of the world’s best forwards in 2019 and will continue being the same.

2019 was the year of goals and Hat-tricks for the 25-year-old as on 6 January, he scored a goal and assisted one in a 7-0 win against Rotherham, which booked their place in the fourth round. His brilliant performance kept on the same till 20 February 2019, in a first leg match of the Champions League against Schalke, where he scored the winning goal in the 90th minute in a 3-2 win. It was also Sterling who netted the penalty goal for City to win the Carabao Cup. In March in their match over Watford, he scored a hat-trick for the first time since 2015 within the space of 13 minutes which became the fastest hat-trick of the season.

With this performance, there is no surprise that he was named to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year and won the PFA Young Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year. He started the 2019/20 season the same way as he scored the opening goal of FA Community Shield against Liverpool. However, after the 1-1 result of the match, the penalty kicks were started, where in the end Manchester City won the title 5–4.

Sterling scored his second hat-trick in the season and his third of the calendar year in the Citizen’s 5-0 win over West Ham.

Later on 22 October, Sterling scored his first UEFA Champions League hat-trick in their 5-1 win over Atalanta.

Cristiano Ronaldo

  • 2019/20: 12 goals and 2 assists in 21 games

2019 may not have been the best for CR7; however, Ronaldo is still one of the bests on the list of best strikers in 2019 and 2020 with no doubt.

The 34-year-old all-time player started playing for Juventus back in the beginning of 2018 & he won his first trophy with the club in January 2019 as the team won the 2018 Supercoppa Italiana, after Ronaldo’s goal against A.C. Milan.

He continued his brilliant performance for the club and then in April and after Juventus won their eighth successive Serie A title, Ronaldo became the first player to win league titles in England, Spain and Italy.

Later on 23 September, he won the bronze award for the 2019 Best FIFA Men's Player Award.

Interestingly on 1 October and after Juventus's 3–0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the UCL, CR7 reached several milestones. First, his goal during the match saw him score for the 14th consecutive Champions League season, equalling Raúl and Messi's record and second he broke Iker Casillas’ record for most Champions League wins of all time, and equalled Raúl's record of scoring against 33 different Champions League opponents. Lovely! Huh?

Another record he achieved this year goes back to 18 December, when Ronaldo leaped to a height of 2.56m before heading the winning goal in a 2-1 Juventus win against Sampdoria in the league.

Sadio Mane

  • 2018/19: 26 goals and 5 assists in 50 games
  • 2019/20: 14 goals and 11 assists in 27 games

Mane is our next choice on the list of the best strikers in 2019. On 13 March 2019, the 27-year-old became the club's record goalscorer away from home in the competition with seven goals to his name.

Later in April, he became one of the six players being nominated for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award while Virgil van Dijk’s name was also on the list. That was not all for that month as he was also one of the nominees for the PFA Team of the Year alongside his Liverpool teammates, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Van Dijk.

Later in May, in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers Mane scored twice which changed his record to 22 goals for the campaign & saw him share the Premier League Golden Boot award with Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Another record for Mane goes back to his 100th Premier League appearance on 5 October, where the young forward player scored his 50th league goal for the Reds in their 2–1 win over Leicester City.

His perfect performance paid off and on 21 October, Mané was named in the 30-man shortlist for the 2019 Ballon d'Or and though he did not win the award, he finished in fourth place, behind Messi, Van Dijk and Ronaldo.

Karim Benzema

Real Madrid Karim Benzema is the next earning to be on the list of the best forwards in 2019.

It has been more than a decade since the France striker has joined Real Madrid and his performance has been brilliant during this time and especially since Ronaldo has left the club in 2018.

On 13 February, in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout phase, the 32-year-old scored the first goal of their match against Ajax where they won 2-1. In doing so, he reached 60 Champions League goals, becoming only the fourth player to reach this milestone. Later in November, he scored twice in their clash against Galatasaray, where they thrashed them 6-0. Benzema achieved two new milestones in that match: First, he became the second player after Lionel Messi to score in 15 consecutive Champions League seasons and second he became the third Real Madrid player to score 50 goals in the competition.

Just three days later and on 9 November, Benzema scored a first-half brace in their 4-0 win over Eibar, and so he overtook Ferenc Puskás as the club's sixth all-time goalscorer in La Liga with 157 goals from 323 appearances.

Jamie Vardy

  • 2018/19: 18 goals and 4 assists in 36 games
  • 2019/20: 17 goals and 4 assists in 21 games

Vardy is the next player we want to mention on our list of the top football forwards in 2019. He started his career as a footballer when he was 19 and kept on shining all through these years.

In the 3rd month of 2019, Vardy scored his 100th goal for Leicester, as he scored two goals in their 3-1 win over Fulham.

He continued the rest of the year well performed and on 25 October 2019, the 32-year-old scored a hat-trick in a 9-0 away win against Southampton.

Carlos Vela

  • 2018/19: 38 goals and 12 assists in 36 games
  • 2019/20: 15 goals and 9 assists in 18 games

The 30-year-old is a very strange footballer as he himself prefers watching a basketball match rather than a football one, but still he is one of the best forwards in 2019-2020! However, no matter what, he has had a brilliant style and performance since he has started playing in the age of 12.

2019 was a year of success to the striker as it started with the rumors of him joining Barcelona on loan. However, Vela eventually revealed that it was really close, but the huge change did not happen.

On 30 March, the Los Angeles striker scored his first hat-trick with his team in their 5-0 win over San Jose Earthquakes. He also scored both goals in their match against LA Galaxy on 19 July; however, they finished the match with a 2-3 loss against their city rivals. It is interesting to know no matter what the result was, Vardy achieved two milestones in that match as his first goal was his 20th league goal of the season and he also became the fastest player in MLS history to reach that milestone. From July to November vela rode the horse of breaking records and scoring goals and eventually he finished the year by claiming the MLS Most Valuable Player Award for his performances.

Bafétimbi Gomis

  • 2018/19: 35 goals and 6 assists in 48 games
  • 2019/20: 11 goals and 4 assists in 14 games

Though the 34-year-old has a medical condition and is suspected to be reflex syncope, he has been one of the best forwards in 2019.

The star who joined Al-Hilal in August 2018 scored 11 goals in the 2019 AFC Champions League & finished the tournament as the top scorer. I'm addition, he helped the team to win the competition for the first time in 19 years.

Later, in the second leg of the competition’s Final on 24 November, the newly joined player scored the second goal in the team’s 2-0 win over Urawa Red Diamonds. The victory allowed the team to qualify for the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup.

He performed brilliantly in all the FIFA Club matches of his team and helped Al-Hilal to go all through the way to the semi-finals.

On 17 December, Gomis and the rest of the team went against Flamengo in the competition semi-finals and that’s where our chosen star scored the only goal of the match for his team. However, eventually, they were beaten 3-1 against their rivals.

Later on 21 December, He played in the second half of the third position game against Monterrey and scored a goal in the 64th minute of the match. The game finished with a 2-2 result and unfortunately, for Al-Hilal and Gomis, in the end, they lost the match with a 4-3 result on penalty shoot-outs.
