The team played its first competitive game on May 13, 1902, when it advanced to the semifinals of the Campeonato de Copa de S.M. Alfonso XIII. The team was founded in 1902 under the name Madrid Football 'Club.

The Whites presently hold the record for both the most

Back in 1999, the two teams went against each other in Group C of the 1999-2000 Champions League, where the Vikings lost the match 4-1 to their hosts.

As for the goal scorers, you need to know that Mehmet Scholl opened the net for the Bavarians in the 4th minute of the match. Giovane Elber scored the second goal and Alexander Zickler netted the 3rd and 4th.

On the other side of the pitch Iván Helguera scored the only goal for the Whites in the 69th minute of the match with the assist of Guti.

Real Madrid 2-6 Barcelona

On 2 May 2009, the two old rivals went against each other in another El Clasico, where Real Madrid was defeated with a 2-6 result.

When the team traveled to Anfield in March 2009, along with their coach, Juande Ramos, they were in the hope of overturning the 1-0 defeat they had suffered from on home soil in the last sixteen first leg. Fernando Torres and Steven Gerard, and Dossena were the ones to score for Liverpool during the match, with Gerard netting twice.

Benfica 5-1 Real Madrid

Back in that year, Real Madrid went against SL Benfica in the quarterfinal’s 1st leg of the EUROPEAN CHAMPION CLUBS' CUP.

As the result of the match, the Whites experienced one of the most surprising, unbelievable defeats in the club’s history.

José Augusto, Eusébio, António Simões, and Mário Coluna are in Benfica’s scoresheet, while Amancio scored the only goal for Real Madrid in the 58th minute of the match.

It also has to be mentioned that Real Madrid and Benfica won the first seven editions of the European Champions Cup ever played and interestingly, the two back in that time giants, went against each other in the 1964/65 campaign.

Borja Pérez scored two goals for his team, while Álvaro Arbeloa and Ernesto Gómez each scored once to help Alcoron win the match.

Milan opened the Whites’ net three times during the first half, with the help of Carlo Ancelotti, Frank Rijkaard, and Ruud Gullit. The goals were assisted by Ruud Gullit, Mauro Tassotti, and Roberto Donadoni.

During the second half, Milan added two more goals, as Roberto Donadoni and Marco van Basten 2 more times for their team. Mauro Tassotti and Ruud Gullit were the two players to assist during the second 45 minutes of the match.

Real Madrid 0-5 1. FC Kaiserslautern

, is the team’s 0-5 loss against Kaiserslautern, back in the 1981–82 UEFA Cup.

The team and their coach, Vujadin Boškov, went under a lot of pressure during the match as three players received red cards during the match. Isidoro San José, Laurie Cunningham, and Francisco Pineda were the three players who were forced to leave the pitch and so Real was forced to continue the match with only eight players after the 65th minute of the match.

No wonder why they lost the match! Huh?!

Despite the worsening situation for Real Madrid, on the other side of the pitch, things were going perfectly, with Friedhelm Funkel scoring the first two goals for Kaiserslautern, and  Hannes Bongartz, Norbert Eilenfeldt, and Rainer Geye scoring the next three goals for their team.

Valencia 6-0 Real Madrid

Back on June 9th, 1999, Real Madrid was surprisingly defeated against

with a 6-0 result in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal, at Mestalla. This was Valencia’s biggest ever victory over the Spanish giants.

Having the record of Cup defeat, Valencia opened the Vikings gate six times during the match, with four goals in the first half and two more during the second half.

Claudio López, Alain Roche, Goran Vlaovic, and Alain Roche scored the four, first half goals, while Miguel Ángel Angulo and Gaizka Mendieta scored during the second half.

Real Madrid 0-6 Athletic Bilbao

Espanyol 8-1 Real Madrid

Remembered as Real Madrid biggest loss in history, here we have the team’s 8-1 defeat against Espanyol, back in La Liga 1929–30. The match was held on March 4, 1930, as gameweek 14 in the Primera Division and was over with a suffering 8-1 loss for the Vikings. The result has also set the record for the Whites League and away defeat.

Gallart, Solé, Padrón, Bosch, Ventolrà, andÁlamo were the Espanyol players to score for their team, while Rubio on the other side, scored once for Real.
