Emery: "We want to write a new history now in our own way"

Aston Villa will play against Hibernian on Wednesday.

Aston Villa

will play in Europe on Wednesday for the first time in more than ten years when they travel to Edinburgh to play Hibernian for a place in the Europa Conference League group stages.

Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, told The Telegraph that they want to write a new history.

“Everyday when I go to the training ground there is the ‘82 European Cup picture. It’s good to have that memory,”

he said.

“This is the history of Aston Villa and it is amazing, We want to write a new history now in our own way and hopefully we can enjoy it and feel something important here.

“Playing in Europe always gave me a lot as a coach. Now with Villa I want to share my experiences and my competitive way that I did before, and I want to do it here.”

Aston Villa's first Premier League game ended in a loss to Newcastle, but they bounced back to smash Everton 4-0 in their next game.
