The Everton owner has backed Rafa Benitez following their derby disappointment on Wednesday.

Everton

were vanquished 4-1 at the hands of

Liverpool

, suffering their third consecutive loss, whereas their only win in their previous 11 matches came against

Norwich City

, who are struggling in the Premier League.

Rafa Benitez

has been heavily criticized by fans after the Toffees dropped from fourth to fourteenth in two months, with many expecting him to resign.

TalkSPORT

had an interview with club owner

Farhad Moshiri

to ask him whether he supports the manager and his response was concrete.

"Yes,"

he said.

"Football is about crisis one day and glory the following day. Rafa is a good manager and underperformance is largely due to the injuries.

"Next two weeks, we will get to a full squad and, in the meantime, results will improve. Rafa needs time to have his mark on the squad. He will be supported to add depth to the squad.

"Managers need time. I have no doubt that we will have a strong second half to the season."

The Everton boss has not had centre-back Yerry Mina, midfielder Andre Gomes and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin at his disposal, whereas the influential Abdoulaye Doucoure has only returned from a four-game absence.

Aside from all those, supporters have called for Moshiri and the Everton board to be given the boot.

Everton have failed to finish higher than seventh in the last four campaigns, finishing the last two seasons outside the top half.
