The German manager takes charge at Old Trafford until the end of the season.
Manchester United announced they reached an agreement with Ralf Rangnick on Monday. The former RB Leipzig boss returns to coaching after spending a spell as the manager of sports and development at Lokomotiv Moscow.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the season, subject to work visa requirements,”

“Following this period, Ralf and the club have agreed that he will continue in a consultancy role for a further two years.”
Rangnick signed a three-year contract with Lokomotive Moscow in the summer. However, according toGoal.com
, they have not paid any compensation to the Russian club for the transfer.
“Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football,”
Manchester United football director John Murtough said.
“He was our number one candidate for interim manager, reflecting the invaluable leadership and technical skills he will bring from almost four decades of experience in management and coaching.
“Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him during the season ahead, and then for a further two years in his advisory role.”
Rangnick is among the most influential modern coaches in Germany. His interpretation of the Gegenpressing system has influenced a generation of German tacticians, with Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel, and Julian Nagelsmann admitting his role in their development.
