Pioli demands more work from Milan
Pioli thinks that his men need to show better performances.
After
Milan’s3-1 defeat against
Sassuolo, their boss
Stefano Pioli
has talked about their performance, admitting that his men haven’t been showing their best and that they need to work harder and show more effort.
The Rossoneri took the lead with
Alessio Romagnoli's
goal, but he was sent off further in the game, giving the opposition the upper hand in a day that ended with a disappointing result for the home side.
Pioli said:
"We lacked clarity, we made too many mistakes, especially in the opposition area.
"In the first half we got into their area many times and we missed the last pass. Clearly we had to manage the lead better. The first few minutes after scoring the goal were very important and instead we made a mistake for which we paid dearly."
Pioli’s men had lost their last Serie A game against
Fiorentina, and now that they have conceded seven goals in two games, the concerns have been raised, and Pioli thinks that they aren’t in a good mental situation, but he remains positive about their quality and potential.
"If we conceded seven goals in two games, it is clear that something went wrong,"
Pioli said.
"Mentally we weren't so lucid in our choices and so it becomes easier to make mistakes.
"We are aware of our qualities and our defects and we must continue to work to improve. We started very strongly, but in the last few games we have all done a little less, both from a technical and tactical point of view."
