Sevilla striker warned team-mates: I'm not anyone's substitute

The Spanish star hopes to have a good season like last season in La Liga.

Sevilla

striker Rafa Mir has warned his team-mates, claiming he has joined the team to shine.

Mir joined Sevilla from

Wolverhampton

last summer and spent last season on loan in Huesca. He scored 13 goals in 38 games for his team and this season he was able to score 4 goals in 12 games. Now, before his team's crucial match against league leaders

Real Madrid

, he expressed his happiness at joining Sevilla and claimed that he had joined the team to improve and shine.

“I’m very happy to have made the decision to come here,” Mir said. “I don’t have the words to thank everyone for these first three months. The club, the fans, the teammates. It’s all been super good and I’m very excited about what’s still to come.”

“I’ve not come to Sevilla to be anyone’s substitute,”

he added.

“Rafa Mir is Rafa Mir, with strengths and weaknesses.

“People are free to say what they like. Some will like me, others not so much. But what I always say is that the numbers tell the story. We’ve not played that many games, but I’ve already scored goals. I’m settled in a new team, which is something very difficult, and we’ll see how far I can go.”
