Pogba out for 12 weeks due to thigh injury, Solskjaer confirms

The Manchester United midfielder is recovering from an injury he picked up while being on international duty with France.

Paul Pogba

limped out

of a France training session last week, with further tests showing the Man United man has suffered a thigh injury.

Ahead of the Red Devils’ league game against

Watford

on Saturday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about the Frenchman’s injury.

“Yes, I would say it will be [months rather than weeks],”

Solskjaer said (via The Times).

“It was a disappointing injury for Paul, a disappointing time for him.

“Sometimes you hope and have your fingers crossed for six or seven weeks but the worst case scenario is ten,11, 12 weeks with muscle injuries like this.”

Pogba has started his

recovery process in Dubai

, sharing regular updates on his social media outlets.

Solskjaer added:

“I’m sure Paul is determined to give his best when he comes back. He’s already started his recovery. He has a big mentality and the personality to come back is strong. Hopefully just after Christmas we can see him.”

Pogba’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain. The Man United star’s contract will expire at the end of the current season, with no signs of a renewal being imminent.

The 28-year-old is linked with a move back to Juventus, but it is not clear whether the Italian giants can afford his wages. According to a recent report from

L’Equipe

, Pogba wants to “break all salary records in the history of the Premier League” in case of a contract extension.
