Solskjaer: Van de Beek will reap his rewards

The Manchester United boss has hinted the Dutchman might get more game time in the near future.

Since his move from

Ajax

in September 2020, Donny van de Beek has struggled to get game time at Old Trafford. The Dutch midfielder has played 16 minutes this season, with reports linking him with a

move

away from the club ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, has praised the 24-year-old for his professional attitude, hinting at more opportunities for the former Ajax man.

"I think our fans can see a top professional and a very good player,"

Solskjaer said.

"And Donny is one that has never ever let himself or his team or his family down by his attitude.

"His approach to the game and training is spot on. I can't fault him, and he knows that.

"I keep in contact and I speak to him and communicate with him because it's not easy when players are not playing as much as they think they should do, and Donny thinks he should be playing more and he will be involved.

"I can't say anything other than he's another example of what to do when you're not in the team and he'll reap his rewards."

Manchester United will face

Watford

in a league game on Saturday. The Red Devils will then take on Villarreal in the Champions League three days later.
