Wed 03 November 2021 | 19:21

Karim Benzema’s goal against Shakhtar was Real Madrid’s 1000th goal in the Champions League.

Real Madrid

has been considered as one of the biggest clubs in the Champions League’s history, winning the title 13 times, and now they have added to their glory as the club’s French star

Karim Benzema

scored their 1000th goal in the competition’s history.

The France international’s goal, however, was answered by the opposition, but it still counts as an important moment in the club’s history. Benzema scored his side’s first goal when Marlon Santos gave the ball away in their box, and Vinicius took the ball. Now the La Liga giants are the first team to score 1000 goals in the history of the competition, and despite Shakhtar Donetsk’s goal, Real Madrid still seems to be able to move past that number tonight as they keep showing a better performance than their opposition.

Real Madrid has been struggling to win the competition since Ronaldo’s departure, but they are still one of the title contenders under any circumstance, and they have already shown in their history that they can always be a powerful team in the Champions League even if they aren’t in their best form.
