Newcastle eyeing shock move for Kroos

The Magpies are keen to make their first huge signing after the Saudi takeover.

Newcastle saw the majority of its shares being

purchased

by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. The move provides the Magpies with new budgetary opportunities, and of course, endless rumours around their transfer targets.

According to

El Nacional

, Newcastle's new owners are planning to make a move for Toni Kroos.

The Magpies are reportedly keen to make a €30 million bid for the Real Madrid midfielder ahead of the January transfer window. The Spanish source also dismisses recent reports around Newcastle's interest in Gareth Bale.

Kross has been a key player in the Blancos' midfield since his transfer from Bayern Munich in 2014. The 32-year-old World Cup winner can be a fine addition to Newcastle, who are determined to start their new project of finding their place among the Premier League front runners.
