The Blues defender joined Thomas Tuchel’s side to win the Champions League as well as the European Championship with Italy in 2020 and he is determined to gain more achievements.

Jorginho

is keen on winning the World Cup with his country but he doesn’t think he will win the Ballon d’Or.

The

Chelsea

player had a fruitful 2020-21 season with Chelsea and Italy after helping his club and country win the Champions League and Euro 2020, being the 10th player to have both those achievements in the same season.

His impressive performance helped him become the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year in August.

Jorginho admitted that winning the World Cup with Italy is his lifelong dream but he is uncertain who this year’s Ballon d’Or winner will be.

"

I don't know honestly. If you don't dream anymore you can stop playing football,"

Jorginho told

Sky Sport Italia

when asked about the individual award.

"My dream is to win the next match. Then I dream of the World Cup, who is the child who has never dreamed of it?

"I never imagined I would get this far, but I dreamed and all I've done is to chase my dream, now I'm living it and I'm proud.

"I am happy to give my family pride. And another dream could come true in the winter of 2022."

The midfielder has been having a good season as Chelsea got off on the right foot in the Premier League, sitting a point clear on top of the table after nine matches.

Jorginho was quizzed about his club form and he replied:

"We are on the right path, we are working hard, and we must continue like this.

"The more you work together, the more you understand what you need to do, learning new movements and creating an increasingly winning mentality.

"All this gives you solidity, confidence and makes you grow as a group. And that's what's happening at Chelsea."
