The Manchester United manager hopes that the English star will continue his presence in Old Trafford.
boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no plans to allow Jesse Lingard to leave the club and has also expressed hope that the English midfielder's contract will be extended.
After a successful loan spell at West Ham, where he scored nine goals in 16 games, Lingard has yet to feature in Manchester United starting line-up the Premier League and Champions League. The 28-year-old star has performed very well in matches as a substitute and has played a positive role in the Red Devils' results. His contract expires at the end of the season and several clubs, including West Ham and Newcastle, are looking to sign him. Now the Norwegian coach has expressed hope that the young star of his team will stay in Old Trafford.
"Jesse's had a good start to the season, of course. He's come on and scored a few goals for us that's been very important for us.
"We want to prolong his contract, we see him as an important player for us. It's up to him, maybe up to me to give him more playing time because he deserves to.
"Hopefully, we can get a deal sorted for Jesse because we really rate him."
