Arsenal and Tottenham might consider a loan request for Barcelona misfit Philippe Coutinho in January.
Coutinho was strongly rumored with a summer transfer away from the Camp Nou after an injury-plagued year in Catalonia. Still, the Blaugrana were unable to attract a customer for the former Liverpool star.
The Brazilian international has played a little role in the first few weeks of the season, but manager
has stated that he is willing to trade the 29-year-old.
A loan exit would give a short-term fix to the Coutinho problem, as Koeman and the Barcelona directors are still aiming to reduce high-earning squad members from their regular payment.
According to theDaily Mail
, both English teams are open to a six-month loan, although Barcelona would be forced to pay 50% of his estimated £200,000 per week wage during the loan term, with no indication of a buy clause attached.
